What is so bad about Boox ereaders?
I will preface this by saying that I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the Boox, but I do understand the bad reviews you’re seeing. It all comes down to what you are expecting and what you’re willing to learn. If you are coming from a Kindle (and I assume a Kobo) you may be expecting any eread

Presenting the Octavia
My latest iteration of my writerdeck is named in honor of Octavia Butler. It is a iPad Mini 6 mated to an Epomaker EP64 keyboard with Drop DCX White on Black keycaps and a custom designed, 3d printed case intended to balance form with function. In the back is a swiveling handle and usb-c charging po

E-readers with internet access?
Boox seems to fit this. The Amazon ecosystem tend to be restrictive but Boox is basically an android, with an eink screen. You can check their models to see which screen size would suit you. I personally have a Boox Page for manga and other long novels.

Switching from reMarkable → BOOX Note Air5 C — looking for tips & advice
I have a Note Air 4c. I work in a tech retail store and we have the Remarkables on display - having tested both I can't say I felt that the texture of the screen on the Remarkable was any better than on the Boox which has a pre-applied matte screen layer (which I believe is true for the 5c as well).

Mihon on E-Ink
I've been using J2K and Komikku on boox for years and they work great. I tend to turn off the parts of the ui that's more animated, use the light dynamics theme, and turn on the flash on page setting. I also make sure that my system refresh is on 1 tap so I won't have ghosting issues.

Sick of Colour E-Readers
Don’t forget that Boox let Page 7 languish with Carta 1200 after Go Color 7 was released. For me the reason is simple. Money. They can charge more for color screen whereas the innovation in bw e-ink has pretty much peaked. Just look at the comparison between Carta 1200 and 1300 devices and they are

Hey, I joined you guys yesterday! First ever E-Reader :)
Yeah i know - i mean compared to my wife’s black and white boox, the page is obviously much darker without the frontlight, given the calaido 3 layer. She can read without turning her light on, i can’t really. But i just resort to turn the light on and it’s perfectly good - and i can see all my prett

Taking a rest day from hiking so now relaxing and catching up on some reading ❤️
Its Boox Page 7”. The size is perfect and since getting it, I am able to read longer without much eye strain. I use Mihon app. Its incredible.

Part of my ereader/enote collection
Right now my current favorite BW reader is the Boox Page. I am trying to discover my favorite color one, they all have pluses and minuses and I just got the Colorsoft during the last Prime sale so haven’t had much time to use it.

Best e-reader for a multi-column book?
You need size. 10 inches might work, but personally 13.3" like the Boox tab xc or the Boox note max would be a significantly better experience. If you can, scaling a printed copy of a page to the dimensions of whatever screen size you're looking at is your best way to get an idea of how well it will
