Is there an E-Reader that...?

You'll want an Android ereader, eg the Boox or Meebook brands. I think they all have frontlights but you can just not turn it on. For budget friendly, maybe the Boox Go 6?

Which 6" ereader-BW ereader is the best?

Clara BW is great, but I really love my Boox Go6. Sticking with Kobo is probably your best bet since you're already in the ecosystem but if you want Android for any reason at all then I'd go Boox.

Tell me why or why I shouldn’t get the boox go 6?

The Boox Go 6 fits your requirement if it’s within your budget. I have a Boox Poke 5 myself (the predecessor of Go 6 and very similar) and have been rocking it. If you’re okay with the smaller 6-inch screen rather than 7 or more, I’d say you’re going to love the Go 6. I’ve always loved the small for

Any tips for Textbooks and Scientific Papers?

Honestly, this is probably not the device for image-heavy PDF files, in my opinion. You may be better served with a larger e-ink device. I have used some of the larger color e-ink devices from Onyx Boox for this purpose. They are not cheap, but provide a much nicer experience.

Trying to get out of the kindle ecosystem

I’m obsessed with my Boox! OP- the go 6 is a great little device that I feel is reasonably priced. (It hopefully will get refreshed this year)

Looking for ereaders that aren't Kobo and/or Kindle.

I have a bunch of Google Play Books on my Kobo using Adobe Digital Editions. While Kobos have better battery life then their Android counterparts, it sounds like you'd prefer an Android ereader. Have you looked at the 7 inch Onyx Boox Go 7 or Go 6?

So what do you think?

I think that at this moment, it is possibly the cheapest 10 inch e-ink one can get from a major company. Not by much (Onyx Boox Go 10 is just 20 Euro more) but still cheaper, and for those, who are looking for simple device, this can be a good choice.

Convince me why your e-reader is the best!

boox, because you want hoopla. and it's less sketch of a company than bigme. the go 7, because its more snappy than the go 6, Used, to fit your $$ requirement. BW to make the battery last longer (just charge it lol).

Pocket size e-reader

Women pockets tend to be smaller. I personally wouldn't put my kindle paperwhite in my backpocket. Even the kindle basic and the kobo clara bw are a bit too big to put in pockets, again as a women. If op is looking for ereaders at the 6 inch range, I would also add the boox go 6 in here and the boox

please help me choose my first e-reader!

All eInk devices are frontlit, not backlit. i would primarily be reading borrowed library books from the libby, cloudlibrary, and hoopla apps. if compatible, i’d love to be able to read from the shonen jump or viz apps as well. Most of this points to an Android device. Difficult to do new for under
