I swapped to an Onyx Boox from Kindle so i could take notes (school + work + old) and omg I audibly gasped when I saw both the power button AND charging port on the side so you could rest it upright while charging... never going back!

The 2 big non-Kindle brands are Kobo and Onyx Boox. the difference being that Boox is Android-based so you can download different apps while Kobo is a closed system like Kindle. It depends on what you want out of your e-reader. I personally have a Boox Go 7" (in black/white) and I'm a big fan of it

Can confirm it's not a faulty device, it's just how it is. The reason being it's an Android device and the hardware is minimal + the eink slowness adds to the perception it's laggy. Kindle has an optimised software, that's why it's more snappy. My recommendations would be to check the updates, insta
