I got a Bigme b6 and it made me realize how good and high quality my Boox air 5c is

You are comparing apples to oranges. You can't compare a $180 device to a $550 one. The build quality is fine on the b6 it doesn't feel cheap at all, In fact it feels really solid. I don't like how they made rounder corners for comfort but then made all the edges sharp. But that doesn't make it feel

Anyone has a non-Kindle e-reader? Which one do you recommend?

The 2 big non-Kindle brands are Kobo and Onyx Boox. the difference being that Boox is Android-based so you can download different apps while Kobo is a closed system like Kindle. It depends on what you want out of your e-reader. I personally have a Boox Go 7" (in black/white) and I'm a big fan of it

Curious just curious

I don't know how to explain it other than it feels like reading a real book. There is something about the screen not emitting light. It just feels natural to me and I will always prefer to read books on e-ink screens. The quality of e-ink and specifically on monochrome screens went so much better in

Is there an E-Reader that...?

You'll want an Android ereader, eg the Boox or Meebook brands. I think they all have frontlights but you can just not turn it on. For budget friendly, maybe the Boox Go 6?

Any tips for Textbooks and Scientific Papers?

Honestly, this is probably not the device for image-heavy PDF files, in my opinion. You may be better served with a larger e-ink device. I have used some of the larger color e-ink devices from Onyx Boox for this purpose. They are not cheap, but provide a much nicer experience.

E-ink screen

The thing about eInk screens is that the limitations of the technology really requires that you use software with UX that is built around those limitations. While ePaper displays with color do exist, the ones that can realistically be used on a tablet or laptop just have an LCD color filter layer. t

White or Black E-readers?

That makes sense! The boox go 6 in black is significantly more neutral when I hold it and the warmth/cool tones are so different. Not sure if it’s just a device thing or a color thing, but I prefer the screen on the black

Is the Viwoods AIPaper a good fit for me?

I presently own a reMarkable 2, Boox Note2, & an AiPaper. The reMarkable 2 has long been a staple in the E-Ink market, but it is currently hampered by aging hardware and a restrictive subscription model that gates basic cloud syncing features. With only 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, it str

I’m Reluctant to Say this but…

I've tried a few different color e-ink models and imo they're just not there yet. I love my note air no color and Boox Go 6 bw. For me, one of the biggest points of e-ink it not having to use light and still having a great reading experience. With color e-ink, light (often turned up to 75% plus is a

Any way to fix these awful top bottom white space on Read articles?

Agree entirely. It is shocking, actually how little energy they seemingly put into their native reader. This is the top bottom margin using Koreader on it. With what it gives on the Read extension I might as well just use my 6" Boox Go and it's the exact same page. Irrelevant sidenote, the width of
