Need honest advice — Should I buy a Blackmagic Pocket 4K or Sony A7III for short films & music videos?

I've been using cine cameras for 12 years now and have experience with Sony, Blackmagic, Arri, Red, Panasonic etc all of it. Sony is by far my least favorite brand of all the cameras when it comes to consumer/prosumer. Their flagship cameras have always been great though. (Like Venice, F55 etc) The

BMPCC4K Still good?

Another fanatical BMPCC 4K user here lol This camera is incredible. The image is superb. BUT, you pretty much have to rig this thing out to compensate for all of its shortcomings, like no CAF, terrible battery life, and whatever else you consider a con. But once you turn this thing into a proper cin

BMPCC 4K minimal setup

Yeah, the Samsung T5 external SSD is a solid option — reliable, fast, and simple to plug straight in. Even better (if the budget allows) are CFast 2.0 cards that record internally. They’re not cheap, and you’ll need a CFast reader as well, but they’re worth every cent for the convenience and stabili

What is a fair price for a BMPCC 6k today?

6K has a larger sensor (Super 35) versus the MFT sensor on the 4K, so the noise level is better, especially in the shadows. But the 4K is not terrible in that department, so don't let that dissuade you from getting the 4K. The BMPCC 4K is great. but I wish Blackmagic made a 4K Super 35 camera. I got

BMPCC 4K minimal setup

Nice one! That’s a great gift. I moved from an iPhone 11 Pro to the BMPCC 4K about six months ago. For batteries, I just rotate the standard Blackmagic one and a few Hahnel Extremes. I found battery grips too cumbersome, and if you aren't shooting 30+ min takes, swapping internals keeps the rig way

Sigma 18-35 mm lens paired with BMPCC 6k pro or 4k with speed booster?

The extra sensor area should improve the 6K's ability to shoot in low light scenarios, but the extra noise from smaller photosites works against it. In Cined's tests, the dynamic range is about .5 stops lower in the higher range on the 6K series: "Dynamic Range at full sensor readout, ISO400, 6K BRA

Is FX3 the only good way to get 2h non-stop recording from a Sony Full Frame camera? (not counting more expensive gear)

Depends on your needs, but Blackmagic Pyxis is a solid option as well. GH5 and GH6 are not full frame, so not sure why you mentioned them if you titled it Full Frame. But either way, you could go with a Pyxis, or even a Super35 sensor on a BMPCC. You also maybe don't need full frame depending on wha

Let’s say you had to buy a camera right now. Which of the three would you choose?

r/bmpcc 5/10/25 Zorbaxxxx Bmpcc 6K Pro or Bmcc 6K FF as B-Cam https://www.reddit.com/r/bmpcc/comments/1kihzm0/bmpcc_6k_pro_or_bmcc_6k_ff_as_bcam/ If the second camera to the BMCC6K FF is to be used for low light, the BMPCC4K is a better choice than a BMPCC6K. Quality F/0.95 lenses for MFT, like the Voigtlan

Need honest advice — Should I buy a Blackmagic Pocket 4K or Sony A7III for short films & music videos?

I have the A7iii and hate it for video; it's a fantastic camera for photography but not for video. I used it for two video projects and it is behind even my OG Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (1080p) in terms of image quality and especially flexibility in grading. Better low-light capability of cour

Church Livestream Setup Advice

The BMPCC 4K and the BMSC 4K appear to share the same sensor, as does the BMPCC 6K and the BMSC 6K. Comparing the m4/3s 4K cameras to the Super 35mm 6K cameras is strange when both the studio line and cinema line have 4K and 6K options. I have experience with the BMPCC 4K and I own the 6K. They both
