Help me choose which headphones to order today
I’d recommend the Hifiman Sundara. Let me break down exactly why it’s my pick. I used the DT 880 Pro for years. I tried every calibration trick I could to get it sounding better, but eventually I decided it was time for a replacement. I went back and forth between Sennheiser, Audio-Technica and plen

Buying Flat Response Mixing Monitors.
Have you tried Beyerdynamic HEADPHONE LAB, headphone correction software which they recently released. It is free, and calibrated for Beyer headphones.

Mixing headphone testing - London
Sennheiser HD560s/HD600/HD650 depending on what you are comfortable spending. I used 560s and 650 for most of college in our school's control room. I use Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250ohm for mixing. WIth Oratory's EQ presets, they are kick ass. too bright ootb without eq however. They are 9.5/10 in com

Are DT 990 Pros supposed to sound this "lifeless"? Need some advice.
Regardless if the sound seems flat, the frequency response is far from it. I'm using the DT880s myself and while they're a bit more neutral in this regard, they still benefit from something like CanOpener or SoundID Reference (using the latter).

HEADPHONE LAB
Unless you are 100% attuned to your headphones, you can't just mix with intuition. If your instinct is out of alignment with the actual sound of your headphones, you'll always have translation problems. Correction profiles attempt to help with that by smoothing out peaks and valleys in the frequency

just bought the DT 770 pro (32 ohm) am i going insane?
I have the DT-770 Pro 80 ohm, so mine will sound a little different from yours. You have the leatherette pads, right? I have velour. So it's likely you have more bass resonance due to the leatherette earpads, which is probably why you perceive less treble. Really, you're just perceiving more bass! :

Headphone Recommendations - dual use for Bitwig and DJ mixing
Beyerdynamics now has free correction software called Headphone Lab to make their cans flat (mostly), so you could find a pair of Beyers you like for DJ'ing, and then use that while you're creating. That's what I did with my DT 990 250ohm ($159), but now also have Ollo X1 for Bitwig-time. If IEM's a

Mixing/mastering headset question
The 880 will give you a more analytical “flat” sound out of the box. This is preferential for mixing. The 990 sounds more like a high end but typical set of headphones. If you’re making mix decisions on these you’ll likely need to eq them with something like SoundID or the Beyerdynamic app they just
