Hi. I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT900 Pro X which I’m really happy with. They are very comfy, and thanks to them being open-back, I can play for long sessions without getting tinnitus (which I had with closed-back, only with the piano. Still using my closed-back for movies, music, etc…). I really

Not exactly, but close. DT990 are more open than that. Instead of the plastic back, they have slightly thicker felt there, making them one of the more open ones, and people can hear it, often crowning them the most open sounding Beyerdynmic even though they have about as much highs as the 1990, so t

Have the DT900 PRO and a pair of Maxwell's. My advice. Save your money you current headset is infinitely more comfortable and the wire is a minor inconvenience. The sound is different and much wider and open. You'll hate the weight of the Maxwell and "closed in" sound compared to open backs.

If you value surround sound open back headphones are much better. Try DT900 ProX it has 45 ohm drivers. You don't need to buy anything additional unless you want to. The only caveat is you will hear your surroundings. I used to live alone when I got mine so it was much better for me to hear the door

I strongly recommend open-back rather than closed. Open-backs are in a league of their own I bought the Beyerdynamic DT990s (open) and the Sennheiser HD300s (closed) at the same time when I was first doing the same thing you are (though from the perspective of a producer rather than just a listener)

They are monitoring headphones not mixing headphones. They are also closed back so the bass is going to be much more contained and fatiguing over time. If you want headphones to mix in, i recommend getting open backs. beyer has the dt900 pro x. They are very suitable for mixing and has a much wider
