Are there silent mini-PCs?

i can't hear the beelink ser8 on my desk unless i get within a foot or so of it, with normal house level silence around. i also have a nuc 8 for comparison that i can hear from about 3-4 feet away. while it may not be technically silent i doubt you'll ever hear the fan if you aren't in deafening sil

Best value mini pc

Probably Beelink SER8 8745hs 32Gig specifically. Don't touch the 24Gig config. It's not about the size. It's the memory configuration on the PCB. They're hurting iGPU performance. They are dead silent with great temperature management and uses Crucial exclusively for memory/SSD.

First time considering a Mini PC, help?

I know your questions is about replacing a laptop with a mini PC, but I thought I'd share my experience with a mini PC in the hopes it might be helpful. I bought a Beelink SER8 8845HS in April to replace a 14-year old tower system I had built in 2011 what would be unable to run Windows 11. I've been

First Mini PC with 780M, which one should I go for?

I would go for the beelink ser8, but I'm biased as I have one, and it's been perfect for me so far (quiet, reliable). (I don't really game etc)

Geekom Sale: A6 vs A5 Pro...not understanding the better value.

If you're focused on "quiet" look at the non ventilated case, single fan SER8/SER9 series. Out of the ones I tried, this design was noticeable the quietest. I chose a dual fan, fully ventilated case knowing long-term heat kills laptops and NUCs. I'm running the 35W TDP "silent mode" on my K8 Plus mo

Looking for basic moderate powered gaming mini PC for daughter at college

If you get a mini pc with Radeon 780M graphics in the CPU you (and she) will be very happy. The performance increase is noticeable over earlier APU’s I’ve got a few Beelink SER8’s and I’m super happy with them. Super quiet as well - which is the whole reason I specifically purchased them. If you can

GMKtech K12 - some info that might be helpful

I also sent back my k12 recently - mainly for the fan noise. I was just intending to use it as a media pc for my TV, but found the fans to be an annoying pitch and also loud, even after tweaking fan speeds. I got the beelink ser8 instead, which I could tune to be literally silent (fans off) at idle,

Help me choose: SER8 vs K8 Plus

The Beelink SER8 has single fan cooling with bottom ventilation, and is the quieter of the two. The 8745HS isn't acknowledged by AMD, requiring custom AGESA firmware only supported by the manufacturer (AZWBeelink). The GMKtec NucBox K8 Plus has dual fan cooling & a fully ventilated case, with a 8845
