Which would you choose between these two?

I have the K8 Plus. The 6800H is a completely different processor from 2022. The 8845HS is newer with more powerful 780M integrated graphics from 2024. The Beelink SER5 MAX has soldered memory and no USB4. The K8 Plus has OCuLink and other features. The K8 Plus is more powerful and more future proof

PC illiterate - Help on finding a mini

The problem with the Beelink SER5 MAX 7735HS beyond the rebadged 6800H processor is the cost cutting lack of USB4 and the fact it's never been listed on the official website. I've also read that these 24GB LPDDR5 memory Beelink minis have problems like this. https://www.reddit.com/r/MiniPCs/s/rECBW7

Beelink SER5 Max, false advertisement on 6800U/H TDP and performance

Didn't realized you post it here too, since here is my main sub. Copypasta from my reply on Beelink sub -> Yeah, this appears to be something smartshift related misconfiguration in BIOS. The [SMU] logic that controls the power allocation to both CPU and GPU, not allowing CPU+GPU to access full syste

How are Beelink Mini PCs?

Out of the mini PCs I tried Beelink was among the better built. The SER9 I had was also the most difficult to inspect and maintain. Overly complicated. My concerns with the SER5 MAX 7735HS have been past reports on their implementation of LPDDR5 24GB and the fact it's not on their official website.

Help my clueless butt pick a good mini pc

There's been reports of problems with Beelink minis like the EQR6 with soldered 24GB LPDDR5 memory. Yesterday u/TERRADUDE posted a experience with the SER5 MAX 24GB LPDDR5. The M7 has upgradable RAM, dual USB4 and OCuLink by comparison. A few things worth considering.

SER5 6800H rebooting with moderate processor load

I wound up buying the A8. Specifically, the GEEKOM A8 with AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS 33GB RAM / 1TB Hard drive. The 6800H was about $20 less when I ordered it, but for the money I thought the upgraded video was worth it. As long as I'm comparing the two... GEEKOM has 3 year warranty vs 1 year with Beelink.

Fixed my cooling issues with a DIY Noctua mod – silent and icy 🧊

I want to do something similar with my beelink ser5 max. The cpu easily hits 85C and I can hear the fan. While it's ok like that I would like to make it more quiet. Unfortunately I'll need to drill holes in the case and find out a way to attach a fan onto the top.
