9 years on Windows and moved to Linux, wish I had done it earlier.

Beelink EQi12 Mini PC Intel i5 12450H
Yup. It's a N100 (4 core, 4 threads). It currently lives under the stairs in my basement (with UPS, ISP box, NAS, a switch, and another BeeLink that is my 'server' ... image of the area here). I need to build a little platform for them in case of a flood or something though. How long have you had it

Beginner here - Synology sounds like an amazing ecosystem, but it also feels like a lot of people are jumping ship. Could someone offer insight?
I'm running two beelink PCs because my experience with the first was so good. First was an SEi12 and it's my workhorse server. It does everything on my network that is media related and some side stuff (web apps and simple things). It's Debian Linux with everything running in docker (I think 25 apps

Cheapest Beelink for video editing
Intel N-Series CPUs are great for Plex/Jellyfin Media Servers, because they have the same great Intel Quicksync Video Codec Engine as the higher-end Intel CPUs. However, when you want to actually EDIT your video on a Mini, you really want a more powerful PC, and if you wish to keep cost down, I'll r

Do you shut down your Mini PC every night, or put it to sleep? hibernate?
I've been running two beelink mini PCs 24 hours a day for 1 and 2 years straight, one is running NVR software (sei12, 1 year) the other is plugged into my TV (s12 pro, 2 years) The sei12 is also in a non air-conditioned space that varies seasonally from around -5c to +45c No issues.

EQi12 equivalent with easily available drivers?
If you need zero-risk drivers, either swap the EQi12’s Wi‑Fi card to an Intel AX200/AX210 (M.2 2230, usually drop-in) or move to a Beelink SEi12/SEi12 Pro or an Intel NUC 12 Pro so you can source everything from Intel’s site. Short term, build an offline driver repo: grab the Wi‑Fi hardware IDs, pul

Beelink SER 5 MAX (or peers) lifespan
I use various models of Beelinks as Blue Iris servers at about 12 locations... 5 cameras up to 25. They run 24/7, and I have yet to have one fail on me. The oldest is 2.5 years old (an SEi8). I have SEi12 and 13s at about two years now. Granted, its the Intel version not the AMD version your asking

I need to buy a 10 inch rack
solid setup you've got. for the rack, the LackRack from ikea is a classic budget move that fits 10-inch gear, but if you want something purpose-built, check out the DeskPi Rackmate T1 - it's designed for exactly this kind of mini gear. for the new mini pc, the Beelink SEi12 with the i5-1235U handles

Really want a surface pro 11
I have an N100 for my router (Beelink SEi12, OPNsense), and one for my 'server' (Beelink EQ12). I love them. This round I went with a Minisforum (AIBERZY XG1-370, 32GB, $774 USD) for my desktop. It should be more than powerful enough to replace my SP4 (that's why I bought the SP11) for daily desktop

Beelink SER5 a good buy?
I ran into this issue with a Beelink SER5 (Ryzen 7 6800U) where the system would hang or hard shut down whenever it was left idle for about 10–20 minutes. What made it confusing was that it was completely stable under load. I could game for an hour or watch a movie with no issues, but if I walked aw
