I just received this last night Build quality definitely looks sturdy, design wise yes it might cause a divisive opinion Several things that stand out is how quiet it is, I had Baratza Sette 270 and the noise difference is night and day

I have a baratza sette 270. I wouldn't exactly recommend it - it is very noisy and the macro and micro settings have drifted since day one.

Had the Sette 270 for 2,5 years. It's as louad as a jet engine and your neighours will despise you. Get a bit of aluminum butyl insulation material to clad the plastic parts from the inside to dampen things a bit. Also, get a set of shims from Baratza, because the grind dial tends to loosen over tim

Did you buy it? I've just been through this decision process at the same price point Almost pulled the trigger on a DF64 since that is a relatively hot 'new' thing, but in the end I just didn't want Chinese tech. I am buying Coffee gear to last decades and I just don't trust them to help service/mai

I also have an obnoxiously loud bean disposal (Sette 270) but have thankfully not encountered this issue yet. If you’ve confirmed all is well with the burr I agree this probably goes deeper (motor/gearing). I’d reach out to Baratza to see what they suggest. Also see if there are any coffee/espresso

There's no better solution than just just having 2 different grinders for true convenience, if you have the space and budget. I also came here to say, I used to have a Sette 270 a few years ago for a while, and god did I hate that thing. It was so LOUD it would wake up the entire house. And then whe

Having just got a Mazzer Philos my ZP6 Special has been demoted to the office day/holiday grinder, previously I was using it at home for filters as my electric grinder was too fiddly to switch between bre methods (Baratza Sette 270). Sometimes i struggle with the ZP6 with the coffee tasting far too

The noise level is directly related to the RPM. A I'm running it at top RPM, I can't say it's "quiet" or "not loud" but it would be those (more so) if I ran it at 500 RPM or lower. When I compare it to my Eureka Silenzio, I'd say it's mmm as loud as that but with an extra component of a taste of a h

My Baratza Sette 270 usually tries to steal 0.1-0.3 grams off every grind. Bellows and a beating helps.

I don't know about starter grinders, sorry. I can just confidently advise to stay clear of Baratza Sette 270. I had two of these and both failed due to internal PLASTIC gearbox failing, within a year of buying. It is made to fail. After that I bought Ceado E37S and I am very happy with it, but the p
