Mesh or AP, recommendations?

I have two RT-AX82U setup up, one as primary and one via AIMesh. Works swimmingly and in case one goes down, I can use the other as primary router.

Router recommendations

ASUS RT-AC68U weird crashes during Milano-Cortina

Fair play. I had an AX88U acting as primary and an AX82U acting as mesh node, after having served as a primary before in front of a AX52 mesh node. And had some other AX before that and so forth so on. And each one of those devices has been serving for years without a single problem, somne running M

Mesh Router Design vs "Conventional" Router

I use two Asus RT-AX82U routers in an AI Mesh setup. Works great and in a pinch if one goes down, the other can be primary router until I can fix whatever is wrong.

Internet issues in the area?

I'm using a setup from 2020, so I would look into newer similar models, but my current setup is the ASUS RT-AX82U router with 3 ZenWiFI AX Mini mesh routers and Spectrum's modem. The only thing I'm able to use on a wired connection is my old Xbox One, and my parents' house is somewhere around 2500 s

The incompetence of this company knows no bounds

I’m a big fan of Asus, kind of pricey but a set it and forget the RT-AX82U model, it’s a little older but for 160$ it’s amazing. Been running mine for 4 years now no issues.Make your wireless ssids separate one for 2.4 ghz and one for 5ghz Here’s a link to it https://shop.asus.com/us/90ig07w0-mx1r1v

Do not choose Airtel in Hyderabad.

All you need is a dumb gpon (tplink) that works with your modem model clone the serial number, set the vlanid , connect it to your fiber and the main router and viola .. I have been using similar setup with my home mesh with ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 (main) + RT ax86u and the cheapo RT ax82u.. thin

What router do y'all use?

ASUS RT-AX82U I picked up 2nd hand off trademe for around $200 Turns out it was a solid choice and I haven't yet suffered the dreaded ethernet port failure issue that plagued older ASUS routers like this one. Much better than the Spark one, especially since it doesn't require regular fucking resets.
