Microsoft reveals major price increases for all Surface PCs as RAM crisis continues
I used to stay on Surface because they were the only option for a proper dGPU in a 2-in-1. But now, Asus has such great alternatives with the ProArt PX13 and the Flow X13 - and for much, much cheaper - that I really don't see the appeal of Microsoft hardware anymore.

Yippeee!!! Another rando who doesn’t know how to spend their money!!!
High end gaming laptops tend to be heavy and more of a "desktop replacement" than truly portable laptop. Also if using it for school, battery life will be important so youre not scrambling for an outlet or having it die on you at the worst possible moment. If you can find it, an asus rog flow x13 wi

Any decent & recent 2-in-1 10-12" laptops?
ASUS FLOW X13. That's the only one I know of. They're not even making them anymore. But you can buy a used one with a 4060 or 4070. Expensive little buggers. I own an X13 with just the iGPU (780m). Nice. But kind of a big screen ASUS ROG Ally really. But great for portability.

Will there be 2026 version for ROG Flow X13?
100% agreed. I think the Flow X13 series is fantastic but I just don't see Asus continuing it. The PX13 took the shell of the X13 so that is why I don't think they will make another 13 inch clamshell gaming device. With the new 5090 egpu that is USB/Thunderbolt 5, the proprietary connection on the X

Laptop with same power as Steamdeck
Any laptop with an 780m iGPU graphics or better will be the equivalent of a Steam Deck. They'll be a little better overall, but they'll also have a minimum of a 1080p screen so the extra performance will go to the extra resolution somewhat. This is essentially what an ASUS ROG Ally is. The issue is

Looking for an affordable laptop for my girlfriend, but lost in the options
I'll mainly talk performance, won't talk much about cooling and build quality because i've never had any of these chassis. I'll put the laptops in the order of which i would pick first (for gaming and also considering price) : Option 4 : Asus ROG Zephyrus : the CPU is OK the GPU is close to the best

G14 (2023) or Flow X13 (2023)?
Battery life sounds about right. Can't comment on GPU/CPU choices, as mine's older - but NBC has a great, technical and extensive review incl. thermals, power, screen, etc. Performance wise, the X13 with config you mention is trading blows with mine config (6900HS with 6800S) which is powerful for a

Laptop suggestions to play WWM
It depends on your budget, sky is the limit. But definitely get something with a card that supports DLSS 3 equivalent or above. The optimization of this game is really bad, you will need frame gen enabled to get 100 fps and above consistently. I have an Asus flow x13 + 3080 xg mobile which can play

What would you do for your daily laptop?
I've got a bunch of computers running all three OS's. With my daily backpack laptop I was in a similar boat with a Razer blade 15. Weighs a ton. Giantass power brick. Cost like $3k so I was always stressed about it getting stolen or broken. Started leaving the Razer in a pelican and got an Asus Flow
