USB-C Failure on newer Asus 15 NUCs
Had both TB4/USB4 ports dead on my NUC 14 Pro+ 125H. Fix was shutdown the pc, take out PSU, press power button, connect the PSU, start. Is amazing how premium stuff like this fails like an ordinary China no name pc.

ASUS NUC 15 Pro Display Output Capabilities
Haha my post got deleted while I was replying to you so I’ll reply here as it’s the same question. “Yes I have, I stumbled upon some Reddit post, couldn’t find it if I wanted to. But a thunderbolt to hdmi adapter has worked for the last month for me. https://a.co/d/a48BOkX is the specific one I am u

Mini PC with Oculink AND Thunderbolt?
Ironically, I was just starting to look at the Asus NUC 14 Pro because it has two Thunderbolt 4 ports. It looked like it had two NVMe slots inside, though I wasn't sure that the smaller (2242?) slot was PCIe 4.0 x4 or not. Based on your experience, this might be the solution that I'm looking for. Th

Introducing the ASUS NUC 16 Pro - Faster, Smarter, More Secure for the AI-Driven World - Featuring up to Intel Core Ultra X9 CPU, up to 96GB LPDDR5X 9600 MT/s, up to Arc B390 GPU, NPU 5, Dual Fan Cooling, Dual LAN, Dual SSD, WiFi 7, BT6, Quad Display, vPro & fTPM 2.0
I agree with almost everything you wrote. I definitely like moving to a full length. 2280 instead of the 2242. Would have been nice to see Thunderbolt 5 but nothing is perfect. Very nice unit, not enough of an upgrade to move off of my Nuc 14 pro +, but nice to see the advancements.

Anyone use Type C port on NUC 14 Pro+ as an audio output?
I am having major issues with the USB-C audio output from my NUC 14 Pro. When connecting a USB-C to 3.5mm DAC dongle, the dongle gets extremely hot and constantly connects/disconnects on the NUC. We are a venue that uses this for movies/sound, so not having this capability is crippling. Pretty frust

NUC14 or NUC15 only: Has anyone had the Power Surge issue on the Thunderbolt ports?
Later edit: After powering the nuc off and keeping it without power 2 mins, TB4 works again, it was a m$ bug and driver crashed. My nuc works 24/7 Both my TB4 ports on my NUC 14 Pro+ 125H died. I returned a type-c to DP cable for nothing, I just tested both ports with a dock and they are dead.

Mini-PC with 4k120hz HDMI output on Linux
In my experience, most mini PCs advertising HDMI 2.1 don't implement the optional features necessary for 4k120hz output. This is not limited to sketchy Chinese brands: for example, the Intel NUC 13 basically rebranded their existing HDMI 2.0 implementation as HDMI 2.1 without adding any additional f
