Kitchen Remodel included a little upgrade

Nice setup. Out of curiosity how long do the beans in the hopper last you? It's a shame they don't do it in stainless silver. Any reason you choose this over an Ascaso steel duo for instance?

How far did you jump from GCP, not because you could, because of taste [No budget]

I very honestly believe that in terms of espresso taste a modified Gaggia is top tier. The ability to do pressure and flow profiling opens up a completely new potential which most high-end machines cannot provide. I could only imagine that e.g. a Decent, Meticulous or San Remo You could be somewhat

Steel Duo ONYX

Try searching by stainless / stainless steel. Examples from r/ascaso: 1, 2, 3 Be wary of lots of cleaning, the white and black versions are way less delicate.

Anyone know if Fellow plans to improve ES1 volumetric dosing?

Yeah, it boggles my mind too. I have the calibration offset at 64 for a 20g dose, and volumetric works extremely well and consistently at that setting, much better than the volumetrics in the Breville Oracle Jet and Ascaso Steel Duo. But I keep wondering... A) how did they get the default out of the

What alternative machines did you consider before buying your Move?

I came from nearly 12 years with a Breville Barista Express. For what it is and how long it lasted (with some basic repairs) I can't fault it too much, especially after I stopped using the built-in grinder. I still have/use it, but it FEELS like a toy now that I've gotten used to the Move. (I've got

Birthday upgrade to the coffee station ☕

I'm honestly really happy with it!. I have a pretty unpredictable schedule. So dual thermal blocks were quite important for me for getting the machine up to brew temp quickly. It's nice and solid and feels premium. Apparently the original single thermal block version was a bit light with thin panels

ASCASO Steel DUO PID vs FELLOW Espresso Series 1

The fellow is a bit of an unknown in terms of long term reliability, but it's interesting that you'd talk about the ascaso duo like that when it seems to be a mixed bag in terms of long term reliability and build quality, as well as not being as universally serviceable as a traditional boiler machin

[600€] Which grinder to buy

I have this exact setup after moving from an ascaso steel duo and a relatively unknown Chinese grinder called the Heycafe H1. The amount of control and consistency in the Bianca is amazing, just make sure to get a smart plug so it's hot in the morning. The p80 is quiet, super low retention, very uni

Ascaso Steel Duo Plus Vs Profitec Move [No Budget]

I went thru the same two comparsion. This is what I did not like about the Ascaso. Ascaso Duo Annoyances · Rattles. Drip Tray and Cup Warmer Guides. · Vibration causes movement of cups on drip tray. · Steam pump noise. · No way for average user to setup Temperature Offset. · Logo plastic sticker. .

Help with small footprint upgrade machine [USD 2,000]

Ascaso Steel Duo will be just at 13" deep with cord coming out the back but porta filter will over hang significantly. Also the thermal block steam would not be as dry as a DB. Can a profitec move really not fit? That's best option close to your budget. What about a mechanica VI slim. Problem is bot
