I'm honestly really happy with it!. I have a pretty unpredictable schedule. So dual thermal blocks were quite important for me for getting the machine up to brew temp quickly. It's nice and solid and feels premium. Apparently the original single thermal block version was a bit light with thin panels

Biggest item in my opinion if you like having people over is a dual boiler. Unfortunately that’s something that typically comes above your price range. If you’re willing to get into the DIY I would say a gaggia with the PID upgrade. The only issue I have with the base gaggia is steam power and shot

I don’t know how much the Breville will cost you, but I was able to get the Ascaso Dream PID for same price as the retail price of Barista Pro. So if anything, get a Dream PID, or go straight for Duo. Breville price isn’t great and you’re stuck with all that plastic parts in the machine.

What a fine coincidence. I just bought a Libra to and are searching for a machine and am strongly favoriting the Ascaso Duo with the lowered prices for the V2 with the new V3 on the market. Your priorities mostly match mine so this was realy helpful!

I'd check out the Ascaso Steel Duo Plus Espresso Machine. Great espresso and quick heat up time. At about $2.100 it's just under budget too...

The Jura is plastic dogshit that is practically impossible to service. A borderline disposable machine. The Breville is probably your best of the lineup but not by a lot. My gut tells me you shouldn't bother with an E61 like a Rocket or a Lelit Mara. There is too much to get lost in the weeds with t
