How far did you jump from GCP, not because you could, because of taste [No budget]

I very honestly believe that in terms of espresso taste a modified Gaggia is top tier. The ability to do pressure and flow profiling opens up a completely new potential which most high-end machines cannot provide. I could only imagine that e.g. a Decent, Meticulous or San Remo You could be somewhat

Ascaso Steel duo plus vs Lelit Mara X V2 [3000$]

Another Ascaso Steel Duo PID owner here, and another glowing review. Been a dream since day one, couldn’t be happier. Makes great coffee, very stable on back to back shots, quality of the machine feels nice and the tank is brilliant for refilling. All that, PLUS a few minutes heat up time? Hard to b

If La Marzocco is the Ferrari of espresso machines, what is your machine like?

Oof. I don’t know cars. I have an Ascaso Steel Duo PID. Feels like a less-considered fancy car

Birthday upgrade to the coffee station ☕

I'm honestly really happy with it!. I have a pretty unpredictable schedule. So dual thermal blocks were quite important for me for getting the machine up to brew temp quickly. It's nice and solid and feels premium. Apparently the original single thermal block version was a bit light with thin panels

What would I upgrade to? [$500-800]

Biggest item in my opinion if you like having people over is a dual boiler. Unfortunately that’s something that typically comes above your price range. If you’re willing to get into the DIY I would say a gaggia with the PID upgrade. The only issue I have with the base gaggia is steam power and shot

Would yall say I’ve upgraded or downgraded?

The Jura is plastic dogshit that is practically impossible to service. A borderline disposable machine. The Breville is probably your best of the lineup but not by a lot. My gut tells me you shouldn't bother with an E61 like a Rocket or a Lelit Mara. There is too much to get lost in the weeds with t

Mara X - is this what I need? [$1900]

Yeah, for a while I also looked at the Elizabeth instead. I really didn’t like the looks, but for the price it seems like a much better machine.HX machines feel like they’re getting phased out, to be honest, they have too many limiting factors! I’d much rather have a machine like the Ascaso Steel Du

The 2025 Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals Thread

It's a bit more expensive, but check out the Ascaso Steel DUO as well. Instead of being a double boiler, its a double thermoblock machine + has volumetric control.
