Kitchen Remodel included a little upgrade

Nice setup. Out of curiosity how long do the beans in the hopper last you? It's a shame they don't do it in stainless silver. Any reason you choose this over an Ascaso steel duo for instance?

Upgrade Day! :)

Nice. I'm tempted by the Ascaso Steel Duo Plus V2 PID. Debating that or the Profitec Move.

Longevity of SanRemo You

Ouch. This is the absolute biggest reason preventing me from upgrading my 2 "dumb" machines. My Flair 58 is just a heater, and my Ascaso Steel Duo doesn't use a chip, just a little PID controller. I thought about getting a Sanremo YOU or a Decent, but yeah... those touch screens are not a longevity

What dual thermoblock machines out there?

4 months into my Ascaso Steel Duo PID Plus ownership here. Here are my pros and cons: Pros Fast heat up. 5 mins with the portafilter in the group head and a quick flush = ready for business Can pull a shot and steam at the same time Fantastic back-to-back consistency Engaging u/x with the clicky swi

Ascaso Steel duo plus vs Lelit Mara X V2 [3000$]

I went with the Ascaso Steel Duo - definitely go with a local dealer, mine came defective (steam was not working) the shop helped me troubleshoot, prime, etc.. no dice (was a little bummed) they had a Duo Plus in stock and I paid a little more for the exchange to upgrade and it works great now ( it’

ASCASO Steel DUO PID vs FELLOW Espresso Series 1

Short answer (my opinion): If you are more traditional or casual with your espresso then go with the Ascaso. If you are more creative or like to experiment with your espresso then get the Fellow ES1. Long answer (my reasoning): I’ve had the ascaso for 6 years now and it still makes excellent espress

Budget is not a problem, but I can’t find an option better than Bambino, why?

Ascaso duo & the lunar were both quite nice, was really happy with mine. eventually stopped brewing espresso, so i sold them but they were lovely machines i would recommend if someone cares about heating up times. i did, too.

Time to Upgrade: Meraki vs Traditional Semi Auto + Grinder [$2,500]

I was so close to backing the Meraki, but was worried about the longevity of components and repairability, too much going on internally makes them annoying to work on. Probably a little over budget, but if a similar workflow is your aim, I'd be looking for a GBW grinder (Libra, AllGround Sense) and

„End Game“ Upgrade from Delonghi Dedica [Max 2000€]

Depth limit kinda narrows the field, but you’re already looking in the right direction. Bianca v3 - great steaming, really stable temps, and the movable water tank makes it one of the few E61s that actually works on shallow counters. Tons of headroom for the future too. Ascaso Steel Duo- probably th
