Kitchen Remodel included a little upgrade

Nice setup. Out of curiosity how long do the beans in the hopper last you? It's a shame they don't do it in stainless silver. Any reason you choose this over an Ascaso steel duo for instance?

Help with small footprint upgrade machine [USD 2,000]

Ascaso Steel Duo will be just at 13" deep with cord coming out the back but porta filter will over hang significantly. Also the thermal block steam would not be as dry as a DB. Can a profitec move really not fit? That's best option close to your budget. What about a mechanica VI slim. Problem is bot

Ascaso Steel duo plus vs Lelit Mara X V2 [3000$]

The US is 110v. Just do a Reddit search on th Ascaso Steel Duo and you will find post after post of people with issues. Just not something I wanted to take the risk on for such an expensive machine. I do think they are very attractive looking though. If I recall you can program pre infusion, temp, a

Whats Advantage of the Steel Duo Plus outside of the accessories

The drip tray on the steel duo non plus gets messy. The grill from the baby t they put on the plus is much better. The steam lever looks cooler and is easier to use. The bottomless portafilter is… marginal value IMO. I got a walnut bottomless for like $40 off Etsy and it is excellent. I wish Ascaso

If La Marzocco is the Ferrari of espresso machines, what is your machine like?

Ascaso duo plus pid? Not sure about this one actually. What’s something that looks really nice, is a bit overpriced for what you get, but is reliable? The double boiler status puts you into high end luxury cars I’m assuming. Maybe this thing is low end exotic idk.

Considering the Ascaso Steel Duo Plus but have concerns

I was considering the Ascaso Steel Duo Plus but some things discouraged me; the plug that you need an adapter for (why in the world would a new machine not be plug-in ready??), the rattling noise while heating up for steaming, the top of the machine is slanted sending the cups towards the back and t

Barista upgrading from Sage Barista Pro – dual boiler around [€1500]

Thank you for the recommendations so far. I’ll take a closer look at each of these machines. I’m still not sure about the design, though. In general, I like more traditional designs like the Bezzera Duo. At first glance, I don’t really like the look of the Profitec, but maybe that will change once I

Drive to Survive

When it comes to E61 groupheads, Profitec is definitely one of the big players! I did consider Ascaso, but the Baby T was too expensive, and the Steel Duo doesn’t have flow control or rotation pump. I was close to buying the Lelit Bianca, but ended up with the Drive because of aesthetics! Rockets de

Moving up from the Bambino [$2500]

Not yet mentioned here, I'd be tempted by an Ascaso Steel Duo PID--personally and at least in my mind, I would find it hard to go back and vary much from the Bambino's near instant-on capability. (But note that the electrical demands for the Ascaso Steel Duo can vary by country--in the U.S., a 20Amp
