Apple CEO Tim Cook says late Apple cofounder Steve Jobs gave him this unforgettable advice before handing over the reins as CEO: "Never ask what I would do"
I’d argue there was more of a noticeable change when Ive left, than Jobs. Without Jobs, Apple continued as usual with a different style of keynotes. When Ive left, Apple's ENTIRE design language and philosophy changed almost overnight. Their products went from luxury museum pieces that traded off fe

I've reviewed hundreds of budget laptops, and the Apple MacBook Neo blows them all away
Most people don't know very much about technology so I don't think most people understand why the hardware is so good. We all know why the hardware is so good. We know about how they make it out of a single chunk of aluminum, how they have a system on a chip, how everything is integrated. We remembe

The future of the iPad Pro
iPadOS and all-in-one touchscreen device is what sets iPad apart. Even if the MacBook Pro gets an OLED touchscreen display, unless you can get that screen to detach and work on its own as a tablet, there will be a market for iPad Pro. Similarly, unless Apple puts macOS on iPad Pro, there will be a m

Anyone have both a ThinkPad and MacBook ?
Trying to be objective, the MacBook Pros like the 14 and 16-inch ones with the Pro and Max processors are really solid machines. The screens are incredibly good to begin with and there are no “low-end” options that have 45% NTSC color gamut. This, I think is the worst part about buying used ThinkPad

Changed the default model to Sonnet and 1m context on Extra billing. I have cancelled my 30* max plan. Buying a M4 Max Studio.
I have it on M3 Ultra, it's not fast enough for coding. Qwen 3.6 35B with I don't remember how many active parameters - totally suitable for local coding speed-wise. But... I am not sure it has brains enough to do any serious work. So the usefulness of that little model will depend on how much exper

I bought the cheapest Windows 11 laptop I could find on Amazon for overnight delivery and installed Linux Mint on it.
I was given a free MacBook Pro 13” mid 2010 a couple of weeks ago. It’s a duo core with 4Gb of RAM. I installed Debian Testing on it with Cinnamon desktop. It runs beautifully, completely smooth and was using around 900-1100 Mb of memory when I first booted it up. Apple hardware is great quality and

Laptops sold in the EU now required to ship with USB-C charging The European Union’s common charger directive came into effect back in December of 2024 and required most new portable electronic devices to ship with a unified USB-C connector.
it depends, in the past manufacters like apple have burried their usb-c connectors making them much harder to repair. However on laptops build with better repair ability in mind like the Framework Laptops and Macbook Neo (somehow) USB-C. With the macbook neo the USB-C ports are modular meaning when

Alcove — Dynamic Island for your Mac
Thank you for this wonderful app. I use it all the time on my MacBook Pro. If I may make a very specific personal request, I would be happy if the Waveform became a level meter synchronized with the actual sound, rather than a looping pattern animation. Few people would answer "functionality" to the

First time Mac user, just used the Neo for work today and I'm blown away
I can’t overstate the (positive) shock of going from a Dell business laptop to my first MacBook Pro in the early 2010s. It was like a spaceship had landed on my desk. Miles ahead in terms of usability, performance, and quality. Apple has put out some duds over the years but most of their laptop/desk

Last update on the 2.50€ PowerBook G4 - It works! It’s a 2005 hi-res model.
It’s crazy how the evolution of the Apple laptop goes from from weird bulbous mass to a fully formed modern MacBook Pro in one hardware revision
