If I had to guess what a MacBook ultra OLED would be. It would be something like this.
Everybody here is hating on it for being touch and calling it a gimmick. Saving this thread for next year when the rumoured OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro comes out. “Well, Apple is better because they waited 10 years to make it perfect!”

43 hours battery life: Dell XPS 14 2026 lasts almost 3x longer vs MacBook Air 15 M5 in web browsing test
I thought it existed until Cyberpunk came out. The MacBook Pro doesn’t have VRR; it can only switch between a few preset refresh rates. Official quote from Apple’s website. ProMotion technology for adaptive refresh rates up to 120HzFixed refresh rates: 47.95Hz, 48.00Hz, 50.00Hz, 59.94Hz, 60.00Hz

Apple Prepares to Kick Off 2026 With the iPhone 17e, New iPads and Macs
Archive link: https://archive.ph/mjvPl […] Apple also has several Macs coming shortly, including new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros and the MacBook Air with an M5 processor. Upgraded Mac Studio desktops are coming too and shouldn’t arrive too long after the spring Mac refresh. And there’s the long

The future of the iPad Pro
iPadOS and all-in-one touchscreen device is what sets iPad apart. Even if the MacBook Pro gets an OLED touchscreen display, unless you can get that screen to detach and work on its own as a tablet, there will be a market for iPad Pro. Similarly, unless Apple puts macOS on iPad Pro, there will be a m

Anyone have both a ThinkPad and MacBook ?
Trying to be objective, the MacBook Pros like the 14 and 16-inch ones with the Pro and Max processors are really solid machines. The screens are incredibly good to begin with and there are no “low-end” options that have 45% NTSC color gamut. This, I think is the worst part about buying used ThinkPad

Upcoming OLED MacBook Pro to Have Touch Screen
Ok I am gonna be the one person that actually wants this. IF they let me use it with the Apple Pencil. I illustrate and edit video / motion design on my M2 iPad Pro, which is getting a bit laggy with heavy video edits, complex motion stuff, so I am eyeing the M5 iPP. I also produce music on my M1 Ma

Can modern MiniLED actually replace OLED for dark room gaming?
The local dimming algorithm is arguably more important than the zone count. Most external monitors, except the Apple Studio XDR, have such bad local dimming in SDR that it's better turned off there. And turning it off means it looks exactly like an edge-lit LCD. TVs usually have much better algorith

OCLP team announced they can not commit to an OCLP update for Tahoe
I’m going to be straightforward since I work at a big tech company where we’re now in the process of collecting and disposing all Intel MacBook Pro laptops from 2019-2020. MacOS Tahoe runs like absolute dogshit on these Intel Macs. In JAMF (MDM) system logs collected, we have found these Macs to ent

Linus Tech Tips - I Should Have Invested MORE in Framework April 21, 2026 at 11:00AM
I think the increasing draw of going to a Mac is mostly due to the hardware. The software has stayed with relatively the same philosophy, somewhat even argue that it's gone backwards a little bit. However with apple silicon, MacBooks have taken leaps and bounds ahead of where they were with Intel ch
