I'm sure some folks want more performance even at higher power. But, IMO, that should be resesrved for desktops. Or at least give us an option to throttle just the CPU. As NBC writes and I agree on 1T power (Cinebench is just one example; seeing the power draw of the "everyday" loads would be great)

This is inane. This is a fundamentally flawed understanding of how these systems work. For pure photo-editing (Lightroom / Photoshop) on the built-in screen, the 14” MacBook Pro M5 is the stronger, more balanced choice out of the box. The Ryzen 9 / RTX 5070 Ti laptop can be faster in some heavy batc

i was using a 16" 32gb m1 pro and not really planning on replacing for another year. Due to circumstances outside of my control I had to buy a new laptop and I bought an 13" 24gb m4 air . No regrets.Although if I was buying today it would likely be the 14" m5 mbp. I just got the m1 pro back... it fe

Even when they specifically have a chapter marker for a topic, they seem strangely unprepared and uninformed, like two episodes ago, they had a chapter about the M5 MBP, but Casey, when reading the disk benchmark (which apparently they wanted to make a point about), wasn’t sure about the unit for th

I would hold off until M5 is available before making an investment in Mac Studio. For general performance, the base M5 is benchmarking about 15% faster in CPU multi over M4. Reason enough to wait a few months before splashing on a high-end machine. (Consider that the base M5 in MacBook Pro scores ne

Yes, I know. EU Prices of a $1999 US product (Apple, MS, HP, Dell, whatever) should be the same in Europe. But Apple taxes EU consumers. Current Apple prices: Base model M5 MBP starts at €1899. €320 VAT and taxes according to Apple website. So €1579 without VAT and taxes. Current € is valued at 1.16

The m1 will surely meet your needs. And they are still selling m1 new at Walmart so I think Apple will update the m1 for a long time to come. My M1 Max Mac Studio runs just as fine as my new m5 mbp.

I may buy in store but am I fuck going to wander out with a big ol 'please steal this' apple box or similar. I recently bought an M5 MBP from the local Apple store, and used a Tesco's bag to hide the Apple box when I walked home. (I live in a provincial city, not in London.)

To go back to your previous comment, OP... if you're in the market for a Macbook, the M5 MBPs have the most refined M chip so they're close to perfect except for the notch (haha). If you're able to wait for those M6/M7 touch Macbooks, I'd wait. But nobody knows if or when they'll come. I avoid purch

Poor person who still uses a MBP 2015 15". I ended up buying two Neos. Gave the first one to my niece and wife handled it in person and wanted a personal device of her own. Got her a Neo as well. Also have an M3 Max maxxed out (personal and freelance "workstation") and an M5 MBP (for clients who nee
