I haven’t used the newest ones, but I use an M1 Mac Studio and an M3 MacBook Pro and they both work great with Pro Tools. I do a little bit of everything. Film, music, podcasts. Id minimally upgrade to something with Apple Silicone M3 +, it’s a huge step forward in technology and will last you many more years I’m sure. If wanting to save some money find a gently used one. The M5 mbp is great but just with being on a modern machine you can run the same osx as that digi tech.

The m1 will surely meet your needs. And they are still selling m1 new at Walmart so I think Apple will update the m1 for a long time to come. My M1 Max Mac Studio runs just as fine as my new m5 mbp.
