Anon purchases a laptop.
For one, I also have a good desktop, so the real answer to the question is what machine do I have with me at the time I need it? And the macbook is almost always with me and available. Its lighter, has far better battery life, actually stays charged in my bag (the last part is key, Im sure there are

Someone twist a timeline
"It's something I've been waiting for for a long time, and it's finally reality, thanks to the Asahi team," writes Torvalds. "We've had arm64 hardware around running Linux for a long time, but none of it has really been usable as a development platform until now." Torvalds runs Linux on his MacBook

M4 or M5
I'm an extreme CPU user and I completely agree - most people couldn't tell the difference between a base M1 and an M4 max in everyday use, all else being equal. A good rule of thumb in my opinion: If you don't know which MacBook you need, get a MacBook Air in whichever screen size you like best, and

Any Macbook users here?
Since many talk here about the pro Version, which is not helpfull cause it has active cooling and a better cpu/gpu i will give my two cents. Because i use actually a M2 Air. Tldr: its great, you can buy it no problem. The laptop is light, you will love it compared to your old one. i can run docking

Could I get some advice about upgrading my older Intel Macs running Photoshop and Illustrator to earlier Apple Silicon replacements?
I can’t really speak about Adobe software, and how much bloat it may have gained (the only reason that newer versions MIGHT run slower on newer hardware) as I pulled out of that barn as soon as work wasn’t buying it for me and Adobe started demanding that I Subscribe. (Currently concerned about Affi

macOS 26 vs Windows 11
I use both. My Macbook is an M2 Air with 8gb RAM and my Windows desktop is a Ryzen 3rd gen 8 core with 32gb RAM - both have fast NVMe SSDs. I don't feel the Mac does anything especially faster than my desktop can. Apps open at about the same speed. I've also never had a Windows laptop give me the ki

What’s the right product for me?
The configuration I was recommending is actually 24/512, so a fairly decent deal in today’s insane memory/storage market. The Apple Silicon chips have much better processing power to wattage ratios than those old Intel stovetop burner units. (I say this having gone from a 16” i7 MacBook Pro to the 1

What has your experience been like writing on the Ipad mini vs Air?
Same here. I bought the 13” M2 Air and the Apple Pencil Pro as soon as they came out (I was upgrading from an Air 3rd gen), and I got it expressly for the extra space to write. Even just going from a10.9 or 11-inch up to the 13” has been a huge improvement to me.

So did base M4 mini buyers basically just beat the market?
That’s where I get all my Apple units from. I bought an 8GB M1 iMac, two 8GB M2 Airs, a 16GB M4 Air and an 16GB M4 Mac Mini as I cycled through Intel based platforms for me and my wife. I tend to buy close to the cheapest units that have on special. For most stuff the 8GB systems are fine. I spend m
