"Apple does this and ya'll love it": Microsoft VP fires back at trolls over Windows 11's new performance boost feature. "It's not cheating; this is how modern systems make apps feel fast."

No I had a Mac mini M4, I just sold it because it sucked. So much happier with Windows 11.

Need some objective advice: best value MacBook for Logic Pro + Final Cut Pro?

No, don't buy an M1 of any variant in 2026 with the intention of using it for Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro for 5+ years. I normally reckon on getting 3-5 years use out of a Mac (from new) for the kind of work you are describing. You might be lucky and get a couple more years but I wouldn't bank on it

anyone using i7 32gb ram windows11?

I use InDesign on various machines. Most glitches I've experienced were on Mac Minis (M2 and M4). With Windows devices, the only real bottlenecks are the amount of RAM and the actual speed of the motherboard. 32GB of DDR5 RAM can be good, but only if the CPU can address it correctly.

Your take - Mac vs Linux?

I wasn't expecting the struggle on the Mac after running on Linux though. Running on a 24GB Mac Mini M4 Pro and nothing but headaches. My other Mac is a base M4 mini. The stalls are real. But the kicker is that my Mini PC is running a lowly N95 and cost me $150 and runs circles around the Mac. I did

macOS Tahoe 26.5.1: intermittent system freezes, CoreSpotlight at 200–400% CPU, anyone else seeing this?

I am the average user. While I was reading this, my Corespotlightd spiked to more than 200% CPU -- which matches my blood pressure and kernel task up to 120. I'm using a 2023 Mac Mini M2 Pro, Tahoe 26.5.1, with half of my 1 TB being used. 16 gigs RAM. I'm getting repeated, extended beachballs and fr

Screen Savers still freezing on Mac OS 26.5 official release

I've had issues with my M4 mac mini freezing up after waking from sleep, using the Sequoia screensaver, on 26.5 as well. I tried switching to a static screensaver and that kind of worked, but the problem isn't totally solved. Never happened until this week when my mac automatically updated itself to

'My M4 Mac mini feels like it is trying to run through a swamp comparatively.'- yeah I also seemed to have more issue on it like crashes when leaving it for too long or just having constant error reports for random reasons. I switched to the M5 macbook air and just every issue that use to previous h

Mac OS Tahoe 26.4

I didn't have this issue at all on Mac Mini Pro m2. Didn't update the MBA m4 yet ...🤭 Just to confirm do you have that apple intelligence , spotlight etc active? I don't - from the beginning. I don't like too much background processes meddling with what I want to use devices for. And since its incep

Mini pc for video editing

Got the Mac Mini M4 for a couple of days, so far i haven t felt the Speed shown in Benchmark, it feels slower than my Intel (285H) or AMD (8845HS) units maybe because of the 16GB RAM, i plan to try editing with Davinci and get a final thought on the M4 Editing power. Most impressive aspect of the M4
