It just depends on what you're looking for. You basically have three classes of devices available to you: Kindle: generally excellent hardware for the price point, but the software is middling, at best. Long tradition of making the experience of using the device actively worse as Amazon chases reven

I'm a button snob. I had a Kindle Voyage for 10 years that has the button like press areas. Would have loved an Oasis, but they were too rich for me. I sideload all my books, and Amazon likes to remove sideloaded books from devices. I often would be halfway through a book to find it was gone when I

If you have the backlight off? None. Zero. If you have the backlight on (I only have it on in the dark), and turn it on to 1-8% set to ultra warm, it is still very minimal. I can read for hours on it with no problem unlike a traditional LED/OLED display. E-ink displays are hands down the best way to

Oh so that was the reason for that bulk? I thought it was for people to grab on or something hahahahaha! I personally liked the design of the kindle oasis but that was all. Except that, Kobo is way better and easy to edit the interface. And tags! I can finally have tags!

I've all three. Kindle Oasis (purchased new 2017), Kobo Sage (purchased new 2021), and Pocketbook BW Era (purchased new in 2023 according to my eBay seller, sold to me as like new in 2024). All three are excellent for reading ebooks and none are particularly difficult to use for that purpose. I find

I don’t think there’s a limit as such. If going through the web interface (https://www.amazon.com/sendtokindle/), it’s probably best to send a few at a time just because it can get slow or throw errors otherwise (plus it’s usually better for the Kindle to have a handful of files to process in one go

Maybe you could give the Boox Go 7 a try. There are plenty reviews on YouTube and on the Boox subreddit, but overall, since it’s android based, you can download multiple apps (including Kindle and Kobo). I’m currently using a Bigme B7 and it feels nice, reminds me of holding the Oasis, but I find th

I went for the Colorsoft (and now KLC) simply because when I look at my shelves of faded paperbacks (some 50 years old!), I figured the muted Color "soft" colors would match. They do and it's great. But other than navigating into the book, one never gets to see them lit up full screen. I even emaile

I like everything about mine apart from the colour - got it last year as soon as it came out, and keep regretting not getting the BW instead. It’s an absolutely lovely little device in every way other than the colour screen. I wanted to get it for using specific apps and figured I’d give the colour
