Recent Kindle convert here, my Oasis was my all time favourite device (gifted to my wife now). The Libra is an amazing successor AND I don’t have to deal with Amazon anymore.

I prefer Kobo's UI, it's so much better than kindle's. I don't read kindle unlimited books. I mostly sideload and kobo works great with Calibre. My KLC is much faster than my oasis.

I switched from Kindle Oasis to Kobo Libra Colour and will try to answer some of your questions. You can change the screen zones from the settings, I can't remember what the default was but I have the whole middle part for the menus not just the bottom of the screen, and you can drag from the top to

I can’t tell you you’re wrong because I believe you are right. I love my Oasis, and I’m sad that there’s no way to replace it when it dies, unless Amazon comes to their senses and brings it back. The buttons are crisp and satisfying to push, the lighting on it is wonderful, the screen size is perfec

Totally subjective. I have kindle oasis and kobo libra colour, and the libra colour is more comfortable to my eyes. Other people say that the colour screen gives them headaches. So, it depends on each person.

I’m a pretty dedicated Kobo owner but it’s largely personal preference. The Paperwhite is a really good device and Amazon’s ecosystem is very easy to use. There’s a reason that Amazon is basically the default ereader for a lot of people. I switched to Kobo for two reasons. First, the form factor of

Ditched Amazon years ago because 1. What you're speaking on. 2. Hardware team just gave up after the Oasis 7" and have spent the past decade putting out nonsense with zero vision other than marketing while Boox, Kobo, Pocketbook keep iterating form and size and bezel considerations and 3. Other comp

I love my kobo libra colour and it's actually more comfortable to my eyes than my kindle oasis. That said, if the colour screen bothered you on the kindle, then I don't think you'll find much difference with kobo, they're both using kaleido 3 screens. I suggest you wait till the next generation of c

I think only bullet point 2 matters here the most. Don’t let people gaslight you that the Kaleido 3 is an OK screen when it clearly bothers you. It is an amazing screen for those who don’t notice the screendoor effect, but if your eyes are sensitive, it just makes it unusable. I have a Kindle Oasis

I switched from Kindle to Kobo last summer after accidentally dropping a tungsten box cutter on my Oasis. Best accidental ereadercide ever.
