I’m a pretty dedicated Kobo owner but it’s largely personal preference. The Paperwhite is a really good device and Amazon’s ecosystem is very easy to use. There’s a reason that Amazon is basically the default ereader for a lot of people. I switched to Kobo for two reasons. First, the form factor of

Go camping with it as I did. It will drown and you can buy a waterproof Kindle Oasis as I did.

I own an Oasis and Kindle Basic. I’ve held my friend PW before but never used it. The only way he can bring out is if he brings a bag along to carry it. Doesn’t fit in any of his pants pockets. I’m a guy and my Basic fits the front and back pockets of all of my pants and the breast pockets of all of

I wish they made kindle paperwhite with a left or right side holder like the oasis. The bottom only hold makes it sometimes hard to read my kindle on my side while in bed.

There are a few Android eInk devices that are very similar to the 7’’ Oasis 2 and 3 in size and shape - Boox Go 7 for example, but there are others. They won’t have the battery life of good dedicated e-readers (Kindle, Kobo, PocketBook) but offer all sorts of flexibility. (And battery life isn’t as

I bought my very first Kindle, a basic 2019 during the pandemic. If has been with me through everything, work, medical school, hospital duties. It’s my solace during those moments that I needed to dissociate. Then in 2024, someone tried to sell me a brand new Boox Page (sealed) for 50% off because t

That assymetrical form factor is much more comfortable to use in the larger sizes. You have far more ways to grip it, and you don't have to scrunch up your fingers and get cramps to use it. The 6" is light enough it's not a problem. If you read infrequently or in shorter reading sessions, it's not a

Ohhh this looks nice. I have the same goals as you and recently got a Boox Palma. I really like it and it has def got me off my phone more, but it’s not as pleasant to read on as my old Kindle Oasis. But Oasis has the Amazon lock-in, and also is still microUSB charging. I was thinking of selling bot

To illustrate the greyness of this ireader Ocean 5 C here is a comparison: ( from left to right. All with built-in light OFF) Top : Kobo Libra (B/W version) , Likebook Muses (7.8" sunken screen - one of my all time favourite reader. Clean white background with text displaying closest to the surface

I gave my Oasis to my niece whose Kindle died. I bought a Scribe thinking “bigger is better, right?” Nope. The Scribe is good for what it does, but the size was too much for my constant reading and infrequent writing. And most importantly I missed the hell out of the page turn buttons! I read so muc
