Questions about the Kindle download controversy…
I was a prime member, had been for over 8 years. I have over 700 books in kindle and over 1200 audiobooks in audible. I used to have a voyage for over 5 years until I accidentally cracked the screen and upgraded to kindle paperwhite signature three years ago. At first, I also believed books in kindl

Opinion: Kobo eReaders no longer make sense in 2025
Send to Kindle! This is so much better and more powerful than Kobo's Pocket integration. You can email content to your Kindle – very convenient for sending ePubs to your device I can't see how this is more convenient than... I dunno... natively reading EPUBs on your device. I only miss a couple thin

What’s your favorite e-Reader and why?
Kindle paperwhite signature. I like the wireless charging, and am deep into the indie authors that publish only on Amazon. I have so many books by them that a new brand would have to be utterly amazing for me to switch ecosystems.

Anyone using the Kindle Paperwhite to read Japanese, particularly for word lookups? Looking for impressions.
I've had nothing but good experiences with the Paperwhite Signature 2024. Look ups are very quick, and I was able to install JMDict. I have a Japanese Amazon account that I use, so I buy the book on the website and then sync on the Kindle. I don't sideload.

Which Kindle is worth it? I was thinking about getting the 11th generation. Should I get the regular one or the Paperwhite?
I have 3 kindles. A paperwhite signature, a colorsoft, and a basic. I use them all but mainly the pw and the basic. My favorite is the basic though because I like to hold it while I lay down. It’s light nd easy to manipulate. I don’t use the soft light too much either. It is all up to your preferenc

Doubt, new to this
Pretty much any Kindle that has a firmware capable of being jailbroken really. There seems to be more apps for newer Kindles but as long as you can install KOReader (which I was able to do even on my old Touch), you have extended the useful lifespan of that reader. The best is really what one do you

I own a Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen and bought a Kobo Clara BW (review)
In terms of performance, you're comparing the budget Kobo model to the latest Paperwhite. Either way though, when people talk about sideloading and being locked into the ecosystem with Amazon, it's mostly about Amazon restricting books to their hardware and app. Their format is proprietary, while es

Kindler vs Kobo
Honestly seems like everyone in this thread is anti kindle but I can say after doing all my research I ended up purchasing a jade paperwhite signature edition. I don’t like recessed screens purely based on the fact that I have a cat and I read that there were issues with dirt/hair getting under the
