I bought a KLC, returned it, and bought KL2 instead. I have an old paperwhite, and i felt the screen was brighter on that compared to KLC, and the KL2 was on sale at the time, and a lot brighter. I prefer Kobo due to the buttons, and I don't like the Amazon ecosystem and DRM, which were the reasons

From my understanding it has to do with the color e ink screen, mine is the same compared to my kindles (even the colorsoft is darker than my paperwhite)

I’ve been struggling with the Colorsoft. I find I have to adjust the warmth and brightness with a frequency that’s a nuisance. The battery also drains fast. I read for the whole day after Christmas (8ish hours) and it went from fully charged to dying. In comparison to the Paperwhite, which took like

I switched from Kindle to kobo and prefer kobo. It has a better UI, no ads anywhere, and overdrive integration. I downloaded all my kindle books before Amazon got rid of the download feature, so they were easy to de-drm with Calibre. I'd advise that, even if you stay with kindle, you download and ba

Kindle screen brightness Kobo screen texture (grainy) Kindle Battery life These are more consequences of Kaleido vs Carta e-ink screen, than Kindles vs Kobo (if you were comparing a Kindle Colorsoft vs Kobo Clara BW, you would have the same experience but switching the brand name). You can have bett

The screen is only dark if you’re dead set on reading with no front light. The b/w e-readers are different and you can read on them with the light fully off but you can’t do that on colour e-readers because of the way the screen functions. To have the equivalent brightness setting on the colour you

Ive been pretty fixated on the KLC, I just think its so cool you can annotate directy on books and highlight in color, but I am trying to really consider how i will interact with ebooks on a regular basis. I am a bit worried about the battery life and screen quality/natural brightness and ability to

I bought the Basic 11th on October and it's the best thing I've ever bought on my entire life. It's also my first e-reader and let me tell you this: if you want to take it with you wherever you go, and actually want to just read and don't even bother with everything else, just buy this version. It's

i compared both side by side last month. the kindle colorsoft has better color saturation but the clara colour is cheaper and has that symmetrical shape you want. kindle's screen has a slight blue tint in some lighting conditions. the clara uses kaleido 3 which is fine for comics but colors look a b
