I went from a kindle paperwhite to the KLC and I love the Kobo ecosystem so much more. It feels so much more personalized to me vs kindles basic ecosystem. The only thing kindle has going for them is the amount of books available in the Amazon store and KU. I’m hoping that now that Kobo is becoming

5 is fixable, 8 is fixable via side load, 10 is also fixable but just seems inconvenient for you, 11 might not be a you issue. seems you might be too invested in the kindle ecosystem. can i ask why you didn’t just get a colorsoft?

I can’t edit the post. I bought these in 2012 from Pottermore when they were sold DRM free. They were side loaded (or rather “send to kindle”) on to my colorsoft. I don’t buy books from Amazon, but I do love their devices. I get my books from other vendors and just transfer them to the device. The f

I bought a KLC, returned it, and bought KL2 instead. I have an old paperwhite, and i felt the screen was brighter on that compared to KLC, and the KL2 was on sale at the time, and a lot brighter. I prefer Kobo due to the buttons, and I don't like the Amazon ecosystem and DRM, which were the reasons

Ive used both (not the colorsoft but the paperwhite and the scribe) and I'd go with the kobo. For me, the closed ecosystem cancels out most of the positives of the kindle. I hate wearing golden handcuffs.

I am someone who switched from Kindle to Kobo and I will absolutely never buy another Kindle after getting my Kobo Libra Color. My KLC runs so much better than my Kindle PW did. More user friendly. No ads. Can easily pull my books off of it or side load new ones onto it. Overdrive integration for Li

Agreed with all this. Kindle user, have a Scribe. Switched to KLC last year and haven't looked back. Love being out of the Amazon ebook system.

Haven't made the switch at all, but I had a Libra 2 for 3 years and currently waiting on my KLC. I've held plenty of kindles in the last few years. When buying a new ereader, I didn't even consider kindle since you're stuck in the Amazon ecosystem. Aside from kindle unlimited, I don't see any advant

I had both, and kept the KLC and returned the Colorsoft Frankly I just like the Kobo OS much more and love that I can mod and customize it freely with no hassles. Also feels good not giving in to Amazon’s monopolistic Kindle ecosystem, but that’s a whole other discussion separate from the quality of

I wanted a color ereader and that was before the disastrous ColorSoft launch, so I switched to Kobo and I think so far I’ve found one book that wasn’t on Kobo which I discovered was because of Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited exclusivity clause which only applies to self-pub/indie authors (which is why you
