What changed your espresso game the most
I've had two game-changing milestones since I started my spro game 21 months ago. Gaggiuino (Flow/Pressure Profiling) upgrade : I honestly didn't realize how massive of a difference profiling capability would make on an espresso machine until I got one. Transitioning to a Flat Burr Grinder : I still

What’s the value addition of using an expensive grinder
OP good questions. The Agaro was the grinder I started with, and after a point I did ask myself the same questions as you. It was a long journey that led me to my KafaTek MC6/ Zerno (electric) and Pietro/ K Ultra (manual) combination but that’s a separate story. When you buy more expensive grinders

been interested in coffee for three years, found this old pourover from my mom which is perfectly suited for the filters I use. Don't have a good grinder yet.
Throwing in my support for the 1zpresso. I have the 1zpresso X-Pro setup (felt better in my little hands). My nephew has the 1zpresso K-Ultra (it’s bigger and honestly a little better). Because the 1zpresso is well made, grinding by hand just became a welcome part of my coffee meditation ritual🧘♀️. Th

Alternativa intermedia KINGr

Adding pourover to espresso setup
Get at Kingrinder K6, 1Zpresso K Ultra, or 1Zpresso ZP6 hand grinder. There’s lots of other good options, but these 3 are solid, affordable picks. There are also lots of good electric pour over grinders, but you spend 2x price at least for same in cup quality, and hand grinding for pour over is much

Gift ideas for coffee lover boyfriend?
Also look at a Timemore C2 grinder for a starter. And if/when your budget expands, the 1Zpresso K-ultra is the bees knees.

Grinder Recommendations please!
Hand grinding for pour over is just as easy as using an electric grinder (due to course grind size). The main difference is that at your price point, your electric grinder options are fairly bottom tier, while hand grinders will be quite top tier. A 1zpresso K Ultra will be significantly better than

Varia VS6
I love it overall. I ended up getting the supernova gold burrs and the clarity has been amazing. (Compared to VS6 stock burrs, timemore C2, 1zpresso k-ultra, fellow opus). I haven’t tried more expensive grinders to compare. You lose a little body on espresso but the better clarity on light roast esp

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread
For your budget and goals I’d look at the 1Zpresso K-Ultra first. Its grind quality and consistency is super good for both espresso and AeroPress, and lots of people hit it out of the park with it. It’s smaller so doing a couple small grinds isn’t a big deal. If you end up wanting something even mor

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?
I splashed out on the best hand grinder I could, I got a 1ZPresso K Ultra coffee grinder, a set of Acaia Pearl scales, a Hario v60 and Cafec Abbara filter papers and while that's a different drink to espresso, it's the best damn coffee I can afford to make myself. There's a fantastic roastery local
