where are you gonna need a high refresh rate on an xteink? You can't scroll or watch videos on X3/x4

I love my x4 with crosspoint and was planning on getting another x4 in the other color, an x3, and potentially the x4 v2 when it releases. Now, I certainly won't be buying another xteink product until they unlock newly produced devices or provide a way to opt in to doing so, I'm fine with it voiding

It's an X3 by a company 'Xteink'.They also have a slightly larger model named X4.They are very simple ereaders - no touchscreen, no color, no backlighting - but I love and I'm on my third book now. Just because it's small doesn't of course mean the text is small - you can adjust that to be any size.

It is for me. Was planning on buying another X3, but now after learning this is the way XTEink is going, then that's it for me. These are tinkering eReaders, locking them down is BS.

Text adjustability is a big deal for me, but I find my current setup works fine (CrossInk). I can adjust font size by long pressing the side buttons, or could change font with another long pressed button if I wanted. I can set left aligned text, remove spacing between paragraphs, and enable paragrap

Received my X3 On April 06. Just tested Crosspoint install, thank goodness it worked I was planning on getting another for the Wife, but this news seals the decision not to. To bad, no more Xteink devices. Thank you OP for sharing these news.
