Firefox 149 will offer a free built-in VPN, split views, tab notes and optional AI windows

Depends on the context. For example most open sourced software is free because it helps with the development of the code or because making it free is to the benefit of everyone involved (Ex. the Linux kernel) Or using the 2 trustworthy (in my opinion) "free" VPN's that I know of (Windscribe and Prot

Uni decided to lock me out of my account because I used a VPN. And then they had the nerves to email me on my LOCKED e-mail, which I COULD NOT ACCESS.

Try a VPN like windscribe that has a stealth mode and censorship circumvention.

Which premium subscription is actually worth the money in 2026?

Or Windscribe, a journalist association did a report on it and that and mullvad were the only two that passed all requirements

No more discounts

I do this and it works, but I have only bought the supply passes or the Bp so I’m not sure if they might suddenly restrict bigger purchases. For VPN windscribe has a choose your region $3 plan an I got Japan and Hong Kong for shitz and giggles. So you don’t need to pay full price for another VPN

VPN firm says it didn’t know customers had lifetime subscriptions, cancels them

Yeah I'm in a similar situation with another VPN. Bought a lifetime subscription back in 2016/2017 that they were offering for ~$60 since they were a new startup, but only years later did they subtly update the account page to say "expires in 2027." Still a good deal compared to pretty much any othe

I don't even live in the UK

Does UK's Online Safety Act affects the entire EU? Or is this situation not related to it? Kind of yes, EU has enacted the Digital Services Act As far as I know it only affects Twitter for now, and yes you need a VPN now (I recomend Windscribe)

Microslop in their infinite wisdom.

Interesting that privacy stuff is under attack. The US government wants us to think that a VPN can strip away our rights. Mightily convenient. I’d still trust Windscribe with my data even if it were ‘risky’ in some way to do so.
