VPN firm says it didn’t know customers had lifetime subscriptions, cancels them

Yeah I'm in a similar situation with another VPN. Bought a lifetime subscription back in 2016/2017 that they were offering for ~$60 since they were a new startup, but only years later did they subtly update the account page to say "expires in 2027." Still a good deal compared to pretty much any othe

which vpn is trustworthy from an actual security standpoint not just marketing

In order of preference. Mullvad Proton Windscribe. All 3 have valid audits. All have good security and plenty of features. Windscribe has all the bells and whistles, including some that you probably don't need. Mullvad does exactly what it says it does, and does it day in, day out. Proton is kinda b

Well, here it is, folks...

Here is something for you all. As you know you can use VPN to bypass this (How long that will last is another matter) But there will be quite a fair few on here not able to afford VPN. Please do not fall for the free VPN's you see online and sites. If you want a free VPN that is legitimate and safe

Best Free VPN

In general you can't have fast and unlimited with the free tier, Windscribe for example give you 10 GB a month for free with decent speed, the rest either give similar scheme or have unlimited servers that are slow due to the freeloaders. There's unlikely to be much difference on encryption, most of

How good is it for torrenting?

Hi there. Might get a lot of hate for saying it, but here goes nothing: Windscribe’s fine for casual use, speeds are decent and it works with most trackers. That said, I ended up with Bamboo Vpn because it feels more stable for long seeding sessions. Haven’t really had to babysit it the way I did wi

Don't wish to give us a username or even a password? Want to log in with a file? Now you can!

No point, you would be tracable ... think about it. Windscribe doesnt log , simply as that theres no traceable way. also you can just delete your email and stuff ( it's gone then too ) a non password login doesnt make you suddenly 10x as anonymous. BTW Tor got multiple times de anonymized it's sadly

Giveaway through FB/YT etc.

Windscribe simply wants to grow their presence on social media. They need to find a way to compete with other VPN providers in order to grow as a company, even though they themselves are most likely not 100% behind this approach as well. Other providers spend tons of money on ads, influencers and re

Banned in India

Windscribe VPN: free version gives you 10 GB per month, Proton VPN: Free version with limited servers and a standard kill-switch (it kills the connection if your VPN disconnects accidentally) TOR is pretty easy too, just install TOR browser, search Sci-Hub with DuckDuckGo search engine, and you’re g

I've been using Windscribe. Not sure if it's worth the incredibly cringey emails they send me, though. People also talk about the benefits of a VPN, but none of the downsides. A lot of websites just bar you entirely if you're using one. My bank in particular just hates it. Never doing that again.
