Uber Linton?

Many new series of speakers do. But Wharfedale was doing a retro revival of its early era speakers with the Linton. They also revived the Dovedale from the 1960s, as the retro equivalent of a floorstanding speaker - massive box still with three drivers, but gigantic woofer. Four driver tower speaker

New system advice

While I'm generally not a fan, I would do a Wiim Amp Ultra (probably around 1/4 of your budget), then go listening to speakers. Wharfedale Lintons, the Elac Debut 3 towers, or something like that, but you have a decent amount of volume and bookshelf speakers aren't going to move enough air. You also

Upgraded my system after 15 years, and I’m not impressed.

I went through a similar situation. Went from an 1980’s Pioneer SX3700 to a Yamaha S701. I love the Pioneer but it needs to be serviced as it’s over 40 years old. At first, I really disliked the Yamaha . Going from a retro Class A amp rated at 35 watts per channel to a 100 watts per channel Class AB

Klipsch Heritage speakers don't just sound live, they are live (Theory)

I’ve gone back and forth on klipsch. Had a chance to buy the heresy iv. I bought Kef instead and am happy. On the verge of buying again now and deciding between Kef and wharfedale super lintons. I just have heard people say that klipsch are great BUT BUT BUT BUT….you know? They look amazing. But the

To sub or not to sub...

I don't have a sub. I just have wharfedale super lintons. I listen to classic rock and classic metal. I have a sub in my 5.1 surround. But I don't feel it adds much

1-1.5k budget for speakers. Pairing with Technics SE-A70 & McIntosh MX-114

The JBL L100s are classics that would pair well with your vintage gear honestly. I've heard them with similar amps and they have that warm, lively sound. For future proofing to a larger space, they might struggle a bit in a 20x30 room. Used Klipsch Heresy IV or Forte IV could work better across both

Upgraded speakers

I had them, not so happy with them... they were ok with tube preamp and class D power amp, but when I bought Accuphase, the sound became too "messy", too boomy... Changed them with Wharfedale Super Linton which were half of price, but much, much better in sound. Enjoy them!

Power Amp Suggestions Pls

I have owned this NAD and ran it with some Wharfedale Linton’s speakers. I didn’t care for the combo. The Hypex ucd amp section just didnt have enough current for the Lintons that dig down deep. The result was a lean sound that left me longing for more. I then ran the C3050 as a preamp feeding a Wil

Setting up a small listening room.

I have Wharfedale Lintons in a room that size. The only issue I’ve had is boomy bass but room treatment and Dirac Live solved that. They are big speakers but sound fantastic from about 2 meters away.

r/audiophile Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk Thread

Hey everyone, I’m trying to finalize a speaker + amp setup and would appreciate some input before I pull the trigger. Current setup:Edifier S3000 MkII , I just got these recently and I seem to like them but they seem lacking on Clarity and the bass is a little boomy (Tried putting them on stands and
