3 way performance metrics update.

That is amazing for a 3 way build with no waveguide. Easily better than a Wharfedale Super Denton.

So impressed by the Wharfedale Evo 5.1s

Wharfedale isn't playing around! I've not heard one yet that doesn't stun and please me. Tremendous value! Super Dentons are my end-game speaker for my den. Trying to buy less new records to save up. Doing kinda sorta OK.... lol FYI - while they last, Music Direct has new old stock of the 220's, (5.

Advice for replacing Focal Chora 806!

All those brands and their entry level products are going to be bright sounding products. Not warm like you want. And yes, to get to better sounding products, you usually need to go up to the next series up (from entry level). Take a look at e.g. Wharfedale Linton Heritage (EAC review), Wharfedale S

Wharfedale build quality

I own two sets of wharfedales, the Denton 80th, and Linton 85th. Both speakers build quality is top notch.

My First Set Up

Yes the JVC to start with will sound better than lower quality speakers such as shelf system speakers or other smaller lower cost speakers. Entry level vintage from the 70's can sound dull. If you like vintage then mid to high end vintage that have been refurbished and the crossovers recapped can so

Speaker Upgrade from Wharfedale Denton 80th

Hi there! I also like the Denton 80th, even if they don't have the most neutral sound and some other shortcomings. One of those is that they have some noticeable directivity errors from about 600Hz upwards (mids, upper mids) all the way into the highest treble regions (20kHz). See frequency response

Wharfedale Super Dentons vs JBL L82 Classic MKii

Second getting the Super Lintons. Or even the standard Lintons. I’ve had the Dentons and Lintons, Lintons were much better. You’ll get a much better finished product with Wharfedale for your money.

Are “audiophile” level speakers less durable? (For a bar)

I know Wharfedale has (had?) a commercial line, a local movie theater has them. They sound very good. I don’t have any info, but the Dentons may be based on one of their commercial speakers, or drivers, set up for a home environment. You might look at their commercial line too, might be a bit more r

is this worth it?

With the plan of a new cartridge, I recommend at least picking the cartridge before the pre amp. That way, you can choose a pre amp that matches the specs required by the cartridge, so you get that fine tuning. Wharfedale is one of my favorite speaker brands. Very thoughtful designs, starting with t
