WD Red SN700 has a 2000 TBW eating and most others (Blue…) 600 TBW. So I went with the Red. Will be interesting how long that thing lasts. Also Home Assistant VM and a Windows 11 VM for occasional use and some Docker.

Just go with WD Red SN700. They are built for 24x7 operation but are only pcie 3.0x4 but it's more than enough.

Nothing in 8tb as far as I know. WD red sn700 is very good for a Nas NVME, it has far better endurance than consumer grade Samsung drives like the 990 pro etc, but only comes in 4tb max. Also do you definitely need cache drives for your use case?

I am not sure if the PCIE4 would be an issue as I dont know exactly what UGREEN means with the following statment on the compaibility page - but most likely you are fine. Given the compatibility and power consumption issues of PCIe 4.0, it is not recommended to install SSDs with high power PCIe 4.0.

One thought- the WD red sn700 is an excellent choice as a Nas nvme. It is definitely a good choice for caching.
