Ask Me Anything About My E-Ink Tablet Collection

For what you've described, the rMPP would work okay, but like you say battery isn't great - I think I only got around six hours before it needed a recharge. I liked the Viwoods AI Paper Mini for more portable note-taking, and the Supernote Nomad is also decent, however these are around 8", so not re

AI features being pushed/hard to disable on e-ink tablets/phones.

Viwoods AiPaper Mini user here. AI features are completely optional. They are available for you to use, but you aren't required to. I never use the AI button on the device. I only use AI to OCR my chicken scratch my handwriting and summarize my written notes. But I have to explicitly select those fe

What a jungle! Help!

if you want colour, the note air 5c is pretty nice. Be aware though, the colours are very rudimentry and it looks more like old grey recycled paper than white paper. A lot of people say you need the front light on all the time, I actually use it without all the time in my (home) office environment.

Is the Note Air 5 C a better choice than a Kindle Scribe for grad school?

The Note Air 5C is much, much better than the Kindle Scribe for grad work. I use the Viwoods Aipaper both as a student and as a teacher, and have found it to be perfect. The Boox Go 10.3 is fairly similar, as is the Supernote Manta (a little more locked down, but with some extra functions.) Any of t

Was about to buy a remarkable 2....

My use case was close to yours. As in handwriting notes and having a million yellow stickies and lost scraps of paper. I love my Viwoods ai paper. It’s fantastic and so lovely to write on! And you can create folders to keep notes in and you can search your notes later It was a bit life changing for

Help me decide on my first eink device

For your use case, I wouldn’t even look at the remarkable. Viwoods maintains the distraction free model, paper like feel, without sacrificing basic utility functions, gives you calendar sync to google and outlook calendars, and has a well developed knowledge management interface (it pulls you highli

Tab 8 in 2026?

Even though the Viwoods Mini has very obvious flaws (cold light, parallax, no gyroscope), it's the only device in this category that really works. I prefer the Mobiscribe Wave for general reading (it has the best frontlight balance I know of), and the Tab Mini C if I need color, but the Viwoods Mini

Best e-readers for manga?

I use the Boox Tab X C to read at home and the Viwoods AiPaper mini for on the go. I really both of them but the large screen of the Tab X C just makes reading manga on it soooo much more enjoyable

Nomad or Pure?

Some people love the Nomad size devices. I have the Viwoods AiPaper and the AiPaper Mini. So basically the same exact size as the Manta and the Nomad (I did have the Manta). I always grab the full size paper and never the Mini. But I am also used to carrying around a 13” iPad Pro full time. So, the

Product Advice

The Go 7 is probably the choice for price and portability. There is no Go 8 and from what I’ve been reading there is not one on the horizon. There is a discontinued Tab Mini C (7.8 inch screen) if you can find one. (Mine is not for sale!) However, the ViWoods AI Paper Mini is 8.2 inches and seems to
