I agree with you about syncing. I also have an AI Paper and AI Paper Mini, which does not work together. I keep my AI Paper in the belief that Viwoods is working on making sync possible. I cannot imagine that they do not listen to their customers.

I was going to recommend this. I have the Viwoods AiPaper Mini and I love it! It has a really bright screen with front light. It runs Android so you can put whatever reading app you prefer.

Any Android e-ink tablet will give you an on-screen keyboard like an iPad. If you really want to notate, the Kobo Libra Color is your friend. Otherwise, you can consider the Viwoods AiPaper Mini. The Mini runs Android and will support all of your library apps. The Kobo only supports OverDrive.
