Is anyone surprised? Verified has meant nothing for years. Valve saying they're going to make the restrictions even MORE lax for the Steam Machine honestly has me very concerned what they're gonna let publishers get away with, after watching what they've "verified" for the Deck.

hey OP this is important. i bought a refurbished deck a couple years ago, and it would occasionally die like that and i would rescue it by rebuilding the bios. eventually it stopped being recoverable with a bios rebuild. i bought a bios flashing tool and dumped the bios and used a 'box fresh' bios.

At same the wattage this is true but the nice thing about the Z2E handhelds is that they often have much larger batteries than the Steam Deck. Steam verification has honestly not meant much to me remotely for the past 2 years or so. Especially as the SD has become more and more underpowered for newer harder to run games. I love my steam deck oled but I have tried more than a few “verified” games that just don’t remotely work well on it.

Some of Valve's Steam Deck OLED displays are BOE, so that's unfortunate for them.

Like the other person said OLEDs burn in a lot easier than an LCD, you gotta be careful. They could end up with the steam logo permanently there while they're trying to use the deck, would really suck.
