Looking for a pre-built 8HDD server to run Unraid. Anyone recommend UGREEN or TerraMaster?

Well, my experiences with the UGreen DXP6800 Pro is well documented over on r/UgreenNASync but here's a quick summary. The hardware is freaking phenomenal. I absolutely love it for what it is, the build quality is excellent and I ran unRAID on it for over a year. "Re-Pasting" the CPU with PTM7950 ma

Early thoughts on the IDX6011 Pro

I didn't notice the system drive (or a panel which would hide the system drive) when I removed the two side panels. I suspect it's like their other models and that you need to remove part of the chassis to access it. I know it was initially thought that the system drive was not removable (like the R

Frustraited by the lack of security patches.

I’ve got a 6800 pro and have never booted the ugreen OS, immediately installed Unraid on it and they had their patches out within a few days. Great hardware but for software I went with something more established.

My overheating CPU story and happy ending - DXP6800 Pro

That is a horrible pasting job! Holy crap. I too went down a bit of a rabbit hole of cooling my DXP6800 and in the end discovered a number of things I could fix. Replaced the fans with higher quality ones. The stock ones aren't bad but they don't move near enough air. I initially installed Noctuas b

Qnap Replacement

UGreen builds great stuff. I run a Ugreen 6800 Pro running TrueNas....I'd steer clear of Unifi NAS systems. not something I'd be interested in given current market options.

Images saved in media folder. How do I remove them and put them in a separate location?

Hmmm, true reading shouldn't induce to much wear and tear. I just want to do it for optimization. My disks are set to not spin down. When i do nothing the sound is ok. You do hear them slightly especially at night when everything is quiet. When my ARR stack is automatically transferring movies from

Before the AI NAS Arrives, What's Your Setup Plan?

I have built two homelab brew-your-own-NAS, one with Proxmox on bare metal (30TB RAIDZ6/18TB usable from passthrough OpenMediaVault VM) and one with TrueNAS Scale on bare metal (RAIDZ6 50TB usable in two pools) - the second while I was waiting for my DXP 6800 Pro. The UGreen DXP 6800 Pro (20TB RAID

Abnormal fan sounds dxp 6800 pro

From what I've been able to gather, the stock PSU controls its fan and there is nothing you can do about the on/off behavior outside of changing the entire PSU. I ended up taking the PSU apart and replacing it with the Noctua NF-A4x20 as suggested in this thread. Once the PSU warms up the fan still

4-bay (DXP4800 Plus) or 6-bay (DXP6800 Pro)? Price vs performance?

I was pretty set on the DXP4800 Plus, but what nudged me to the DXP6800 Pro was actually the Thunderbolt 4 ports on the front. I don’t currently have a machine that can take advantage of that, but I’ll probably upgrade my main desktop in the next couple years. At that point, I’ll slap a fast NVMe dr
