If you want a nice prebuilt, you could look at Ugreen or TerraMaster. Both are unlocked units and unlike Synology, you can use the OS and drives of your choice. I bought a little Ugreen DXP4800+ and installed TrueNAS on it. The warranty allows you to install any OS you like so that’s nice. It’s been great, I also didn’t want to mess with building another system either and I love the small form factor. The GF approves in a big way.
