Beware…
It's been nearly every single recent product release though. UTR - overpriced and obsolete, quite literally everything it does GL.iNet does better and for half the price on the comparable model UDB-IoT - why TF are they using a Wi-Fi 4 radio on literally anything whatsoever in 2026, it will murder y

UTR Use Case: Family Vacation
I love Ubiquiti gear as much as the next person, but seeing people post about the UTR as if it’s the best thing since sliced bread is hilarious, given the better offerings that have been on the market FOR YEARS.

Yet another real world UTR experience
Point 1: Ubiquiti ad said that UTR would simplify connection to hotel wifi. It didnt. Point 2: The router has to be configured on your phone because it doesnt turn on wifi by default. Which is less convenient than the old travel router i had which was configured by web. Point 3: I cant tether my lap

Will Ubiquiti ever do anything about stock issues?
UTR are only being scalped on eBay because Ubiquiti isn't supplying enough to satisfy the retail market.. thus creating an arbitrage environment. That's some real big-brain thinking there from UI. Restrict the availability further... because... scalping ?

Ubiquiti Travel Router - Initial Impressions
Here is my post from earlier today - https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/s/MuBzzXN2kf Now that my UTR is working, I attempted doing Factory Reset through the UI app. Nothing happens. The Update option through the UI app results with no action. I am not able to SSH to my UTR. I was on Ubiquiti support

UTR and Mudi 7 Companions
Comparing these two is pretty apples and oranges. The GL.iNet devices in general are much more feature-rich and overall better while the ubiquiti router is made for simple Plug and Play usage. I'm keeping my Baryl AX, cost the same as the UTR but more capable with a lot better range. Slightly bigger

Impulse bought the UniFi Travel Router (UTR)… first trip impressions
100% agree on that! I feel that most UTR owners bought one because Ubiquiti, but don’t actually need one. But hey, this sub is full of people who have full racks and multiple E7s in their two-bedroom apartments, so...

Really unhappy with the UTR
RMA it. My UTR worked; my UX7 didn’t. Ubiquiti QC is a dice roll.

First trip with the UTR, what a joke
The device in its current state is a disappointment. You can get more functionality from an old router running OpenWrt. I’m a Ubiquiti fanboy, but the UTR is such a mess.

Thoughts on the direction of the company, product stack fragmentation, performance, and software quality
Why? Look at the quality of their software releases, the quality of the releases has been in huge decline, even in the last 6 months (for whatever reason it has really accelerated in that time - vibe coding isn't out of the question). The releases are a constant source of regressions, and crippling
