Updates Impacting UDM SE Stability?

Latest 5.x releases have memory leaks. Latest 5.0.16 seems to be impacting a lot of folks, see here: https://community.ui.com/releases/UniFi-OS-Dream-Machines-5-0-16/4b8a0a8b-f241-49a0-b0a3-c3de80d503ef?reply=1 Sounds like disabling IDS/IPS might be a good workaround for now … Pretty bad that they r

Update completly crashed my network

Used Ubiquity for 4 years, always had auto update on everything. UDM, then UDM:SE and now UCG:Fibre… and UNAS Pro.. all on Official release channel. Never had an issue. No issue with 4.4.9 either.

bad situation ever! UDMpro wipped itself

If you did not back up your UDM then you are SOL. The AP's are tied to the software configuration, not the hardware itself. You can, for example, back up the config on one UDM, take out the hardware, restore the backup to a completely different UDM, and the AP's and everything adopted in that config

Two ISPs using Dream Machine?

Which version of the Dream Machine do you have? If it's any of the Rack Mountable Dream Machines, you can run Dual WAN. I think it's just the original UniFi Dream Router, which isn't capable of Dual WAN. Based on what you've said I would set your Xfinity as the main connection and I'd have the secon

Beast installed, Bottlenecks gone!

This thing is not ready for release. Do not buy the UDM Beast unless you enjoy pain. I went from a flawless (but slow UDM Pro) to a very fast and extremely unstable UDM Beast. Here's something to think about, after a complete power off, not just a reboot... The UDM Beast runs without errors for 4-5

Backup communications

I use a UniFi dream machine to do exactly what you want to do as fail over. I have fiber as my main, T-Mobile for cellular backup, and starlink on standby for when both fiber and cell towers go out. The system works great with no issues. I also have cloudflare dns setup so I have a subdomain point t

Zen vs. Plusnet vs. Sky for Openreach Full Fibre 900 — Which is the best balance of cost, service, and stability?

I keep my work backups at home so I have Zen both in the office and at home and they have been amazing. When issues crept up tech support spoke to me in a way that they knew that I knew what was going on rather than from a script… We had a series of high ping issues which affected both routers and l

Home Network Design Center

My $0.02: Look for Fiber over copper cable for the shed uplink; it is future-proof. If you have the budget (pricing is reasonable), you can order pre-fabricated custom-length fiber cables (no splicing required) https://www.fs.com/products/29606.html?attribute=1263&id=1099185. Both UDMSE and Flex sup

G6 Pro Entry is the right choice?

i set up something similar with a g6 pro entry on a gate in spain. the access hub mini works with most 12v or 24v electric strikes but italian locks sometimes use weird voltages. your electrician can put a multimeter on the existing lock to check. you got the major parts right - g6 pro entry, access
