UNAS 4 - MARCH 2026 - PART II... yeah, theres more. it's the hardware too....
Great in-depth review as I think a write up like this may have had me hold off on my unas2 purchase. However, what this NAS has in lack of features can make up for in what you plan on using it for. (Give and take) My problems with ubiquiti at the moment is that they don't just make a great all aroun

New Beast (UDM) !
The UDM Beast has a total of 15 ports in all. The ports are as follows: Two 2.5GbE ports (can be configured as LAN or WAN). Eight 10 GbE ports (one of the 10Gb ports is labeled as a WAN port, but this is configurable as either LAN or WAN). Two 10Gb SFP+ ports (also can be set as LAN or WAN ports). T

Update completly crashed my network
Used Ubiquity for 4 years, always had auto update on everything. UDM, then UDM:SE and now UCG:Fibre… and UNAS Pro.. all on Official release channel. Never had an issue. No issue with 4.4.9 either.

What router is everyone using?
I’m using a UniFi Dream Machine Pro, it’s about 5 years old but it’s a total beast, but it wasn’t cheap. I wanted something that was part of ecosystem with separate Wi-Fi access points.

Black Friday UniFi deals?
Ubiquiti generally do NOT have sales of any kind, including BF. They are sold out a lot so they don't really have to. Last one I can remember is they discounted a weak version of the UDM Pro for a hundred dollars less or so. It's never their hottest products. I guess it doesn't hurt to wait a few we

bad situation ever! UDMpro wipped itself
If you did not back up your UDM then you are SOL. The AP's are tied to the software configuration, not the hardware itself. You can, for example, back up the config on one UDM, take out the hardware, restore the backup to a completely different UDM, and the AP's and everything adopted in that config

Introducing: Dream Machine Beast. (Works with your UTR)
So all of ubiquitis other stuff ? It’s so annoying that all of the ap‘s use PoE but no one thinks of small home rigs. I don’t want to buy another bulky switch just for Poe. E.G I have a cloud gateway ultra and a couple WiFi 7 APs but the cloud gateway doesn’t have Poe out so I have to buy a switch j

Meraki Firewall Alternatives for Small Locations?
+1 for Ubiquiti. There is plenty there gear can't do, but 99% of it is plug-and-play, performant, and reliable. The orgs I work for have plenty of cash to throw around, and we're still opting to roll Unifi gear where we were previously deploying Meraki.I have Ubiquiti (UDM Pro) at home and colo, and

UDM Beast - UWC London
When they announced it at the conference, they said one of their mentalities is reducing decision fatigue. That they want their choices to be the "UDM core" (I forget its actual name, but a very powerful one, more powerful than the beast), or the UDM beast. If you need the "UDM core" you know why, a
