Introducing: Dream Machine Beast
Ubiquiti is out here trying their best to make enterprise level gear that will never be purchased by any respectable enterprise. Ubiquiti: Just name this the UDM-Pro 25G. It's yours. Take it, you're welcome.

What exactly does intrusion protection actually do? (Technically)
That's actually a really good quetsion. But let's tart at the bginning: What an IDS typically does is to look into the behavious of a host OR the content of packets (deep packet inspection). It checks if the content is suspisious, e.g. by using a list of known patterns how an atack looks OR the behav

The new Beast can't actually handle 40x 4k cameras? It official supports that many, but the capacity calculator says actually doing that exceeds capacity. What gives, shouldn't the limit be lower?
An ARM v8.2 CPU is circa 2017 (likely Cortex-A75), a v9 CPU is from 2020 at a minimum, with the Neoverse N2 from 2025. So yeah, 8 years worth of progress, definitely possible. The UDM line was previously using chips with a Cortex-A57 from 2015, same stuff in the Nintendo Switch 1. Ubiquiti is using

Yum. Same price as official store but free shipping
Honestly I’m confused why so many people one here complain about the shipping and tariff surcharges from Ubiquiti directly, when B&H has free shipping and no surcharges. Just ordered a UDM Pro and AP for exactly MSRP from B&H. If your credit card has a warranty extension benefit for purchases, I don

UNAS 4 - MARCH 2026 - PART II... yeah, theres more. it's the hardware too....
Great in-depth review as I think a write up like this may have had me hold off on my unas2 purchase. However, what this NAS has in lack of features can make up for in what you plan on using it for. (Give and take) My problems with ubiquiti at the moment is that they don't just make a great all aroun

Does Teleport actually work?
Ignore Teleport, Ubiquiti already provides you with a much better native VPN option - just use the built-in Identity Endpoint service which includes Wireguard. I was also struggling to get Teleport working, until someone pointed me towards Unifi Identity Endpoint's Wireguard VPN. Free (for <50 users

OLED users with 0 WiFi or game streaming issues, what router are you using?
Ubiquiti / UniFi A UniFi Dream Machine Pro with a U6-IW (WiFi 6 in-wall) and U6-Pro (WiFi 6 standard access point). Had the system for about 4 years and it just keeps getting better.

I've been running the UDM Beasts at DPC technology. Here's my review...
Clay... thanks for the reply and sorry if I get caught up in my little bubble of Ubiquiti gear/fanaticism/obsession. I'd say that testing of items such IDS and IPS throughput across devices would be helpful. For example, the UCG-Fiber is supposed to smoke the UDM Pro lineup (until the beautiful Beas

Just purchased a home with these cameras, steps needed to use them?
Can you tell us how your internet/wifi works and equipment you have for them? If you want to consolidate your internet router/wifi/cameras, you can buy the Unifi Dream Machine (UDM), Unifi WiFi APs, and a hard drive to store the recordings within the UDM. Figure out how to power them over the ethern

Micro Center is trolling the UI store: No Memory Surcharges
Got the exact combo except I got my UDM SE from Ubiquiti. I ended up spending about $100 more through tarrifs, memory and shipping costs all for a 2 year warranty...bot sure if its worth it.
