Advice Please

I'd probably put another 24 port patch panel between the UDM-SE and the core switch. Yes, you want an SE for the flexibility, and there are lots of good uses for those ports. Low-bandwidth uses for UDM-xxx 8 port integral switch Also has good discussion of the technical shortcomings of the 8 port AI

UDM SE Dead: Fixed!

Sadly you, and many others here, in the western world, are not cognizant about life in a rogue dictatorship where basic human rights are unheard of. I know people who used to live behind the Iron Curtain and their stories are nothing short of horror. Unfortunately, we in the West, in our unlimited d

Teleport is WAY slower than Wireguard - why is this?

Yeah that's why I'm confused. This comment in another thread suggested that it's a well-known issue, but I can't find anything else confirming that. There is documentation about amplifi alien's implementation of teleport that says that the max speed of teleport is 17 mbps (which fits what I'm seeing

UDM-SE SFP+ ports to Lite 8

Most people on Reddit will tell you to buy another switch and connect that switch to the udm via DAC and connect everything to that switch instead of the UDM Yes. Because the UDM Pro/SE only gives the 8 port switch a 1 gig backplane. You shouldnt use it for devices that could ACTUALLY pull a gig of

Switching cameras to new NVR

https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/comments/1ehutyn/migrating_protect_from_udm_pro_to_unvr/ I followed this guide but didn’t have any of the hiccups described, it was pretty easy.I went from UDM-SE to NVR.

Decided to build my own 19”

What specifically draws you to the UDM SE? If you’re just powering POE cameras that’s a good option, although the dedicated UNR Instant or UNVR are both solid options. FYI the entire UDM lineup is dated and due for a refresh. Most here on this Reddit would recommend the UCG Fiber.

UCG Fiber Stability, Performance and Reliability

CGF does run Protect. The big reason people are suggesting the UDM-SE is because it can generate 180W of POE. It's also a far more mature and stable product. There's something to be said about being able to attach a WAP directly to the gateway if need be. If you don't have plans on ever going past 2

Have you ever had a Ubiquiti product have a hardware failure? How do you plan for such a contingency?

My UDM-SE died in January, while I was out of town. It's at home so it wasn't a super huge deal (although the websites I host were all down) but my big worry was my wife. She's tech savvy enough to at least grab a spare ethernet cable and plug the Phillips Hue hub into the AT&T Fiber router itself s

Newbie Home setup

I just bought a house with a Hikvision setup, and asked about it in a couple places. You should take a look at the responses. Same question, two subs. Just bought a house that came with a Hikvision camera system. What do I need to know? at r/Hikvision Just bought a house that came with a Hikvision c

Does this cart make sense? Any recs for power supply? (EU)

In general consider: Aftermarket half-size server racks. They can be had for like 150€ on average. It is the most tedious job in the planet to migrate from one rack to a new rack. And you can also run non networking gear if you get full lenght one, so you can put your servers also there. Dont forget
