Amplifi Alien routers are not being replaced. Recently tried to RMA one and they accepted the sent in one but had nothing to send me back so I got upgraded to UniFi equipment.

And that’s what they want. I don’t expect anything from AmpliFi to be announced. The best way for them would be new firmware to make Alien works with UniFi Network. Aliens are available new in EU for 120€. https://eu.store.ui.com/eu/en/category/all-amplifi-alien/collections/amplifi-alien/products/am

The Amplifi line from Ubiquiti is actually a good reliable WiFi and Mesh system for the average home user. I had two of the Amplifi Aliens and they were great devices very good WiFi coverage and easy to setup. I never had any issues out of them.

I've got the Amplifi HD x2 and a Meshpoint and they are starting to hit end of life. Where I work used to sell them and they are all starting to die around the 6 year mark, Even have some kicking the bucket around the 3 year mark. We have an abundance of the meshpoints but the material they are coat

Full disclosure, I run a full Unifi setup and use Protect. But yes, you are correct, Ubiquiti has a checkered past where they made decisions to abruptly discontinue support for their products. I use to manage an old Unifi Video system when they abruptly sunsetted it for Protect that you could not ru

My Amplifi Alien Wi-Fi 6 router. It'll be up for sale once I get the UDR7 up and running lol. It's technically a Unifi product, but in the Amplifi product line.

If it’s a dead switch you’ll know instantly. All devices connected to it will stop working. We have these thrown in barns and all sorts, they’re reliable as anything. I’d say the amplifi alien is less reliable than the above switch. If you want to throw yourself into UniFi definitely go for it but d

Good points. I had AmpliFi Aliens a few years ago and loved them. I switched to eero for a short time, but had so many strange issues from Sonos speakers intermittently not working to Wi-Fi speeds randomly slowing to a crawl. I switched to the UniFi line 3 years ago and all the issues went away. The

What are you doing for WiFi for that? I'm scoping out what I should get after I switch from my AmpliFi Alien, and the cloud gateway has been on my list

edited after watching the release video I’ve been a vocal advocate for Ubiquiti’s AmpliFi Alien routers for years—constantly recommending them to friends and online communities for their seamless mesh performance, Wi-Fi 6 capabilities, and that sleek, minimalist design. They truly felt like a game-c
