GCP vs Miicoffee apex V2 vs Lelit Anna [500€]
Well I bought the Turin Legato V2 (I'm in the UsA). I was either going to get the Gaggia or the Gemilai 3007Z (Turin Legato V2 or MiCoffee Apex V2 in these parts). Gaggia interested me due to it's long solid reputation but I wanted to be able to adjust things as my tastes change in coffee every so o

Is Breville a good or bad place to start for a beginner? [$1000]
A dedicated grinder serves a few purposes. infinitely easier to deal with switching beans if that’s something you’re into, especially if you start single dosing vs throwing a pound into the hopper. Even just switching between cafe and decaf is a huge pain in these combo machines. for $300-500 range,

Turin Legato V2 Flow Control and PID...upgrade from BBE? [Budget 500$]
I'm a true believer that the turin legato v2 is the best machine you can get for $500. For reference, I used to have one. The flow control isn't true flow control where you can change it mid-shot in order to give your different pressure profiles. You could dimmer mod it to be able to do that pretty

GCP vs Miicoffee apex V2 vs Lelit Anna [500€]
In the USA---for now--Espresso Outlet is selling the Turin Legato V2 and most folks really applaud the customer service from the seller. I did a great deal of reading on the Gemilai 3007Z where I could find it in use in Asia. This meant looking at youtube videos in other languages (among other sourc

Starter Machine - Did I get this right? [€500]
some other details missing from the Turin Legato V2. It has flow control as well as OPV. It came with two steam tips-both work very well. Drip Tray is easy to remove and hasn't been a problem- I release water to heat up the head. I routinely spray the milk steamer before using it and after. I empty

Just ordered a Turin legato v2
I am now about a week or two on the Turin Legato V2. 1) No regrets. 2) first things I did was set OPV. You use the back flow stopper--black thing (rubber) -put it in a basket , put portafilter in and so easy to set. I went with 9 bars. 3) Set water flow (the recessed screw to the left of the portafi

Anyone here who had Turin Legato v2 for a longer period?
If one runs a few more names, common names in Asia for the Gemila 3007L and 3007Z (V2) units--it's amazing --folks in their languages discuss using this machine for small restaurants, cafes, small stands with pretty high volume relative to home use per day. Translate function on youtube videos had m

Anyone here who had Turin Legato v2 for a longer period?
The Turin Legato V2 and most other manufacturers don't ship with a dosing funnel. I found one on Amazon that's got more height than usual---WDT tool works great, and it really insures good output on my grinder. I did get a bottomless portafilter (not necessary) but I really did want to watch the coo

Bambino Plus vs Gemilai CRM 3007Z/L [$1000]
I love all the instant heat up on that Bambino on paper but it's not thermally possible the way I want espresso which means the lines, the head and the portafilter all come to temperature. Bought a Turin Legato V2---I can preheat (which I do) with a cheap add on I put on--a Switch Bot, so I wake to

My end game!
Thank you for this writeup, it really resonates with me as I also think spending an absurd amount of money on a machine is not how "endgame" should work. It should be more based on an individual's needs and preferences rather than community pleasing. I read through the comments here and it seems lik
