Tractive or Fi dog trackers? Pros and cons?
Tractive pros and cons: Better international coverage if you travel, works just as well in rural and no coverage areas. More affordable monthly subscription, exact prices depends on the plan you pick, cheapest is I think 5 or 6 bucks a month Health monitoring included at base price Updates much fast

Tractive 6 experience?
I have 2 dogs and they both have a tractive 6. I’ve attached it on the handle of his collar, as this collar is too wide, but it fits perfectly fine with his normal sized collar. The positives: It’s accurate, the battery lasts about a week with walks, super quick notifications when they leave the bou

Share your first impressions of the new Tractive Cat 6 Mini & Dog 6 XL
I had so many hopes for this collar! I have had a previous version, and it worked good, but a bit bulky. I finally received the new one AND it won’t see my NETWORK to even connect. I work in tech sector and TRIED everything (switching WiFi frequency, turning legacy mode on/off….nothings worked!!!).

Why aren’t there internal trackers at a consumer level?
I went with “Tractive” which is both GPS and Bluetooth enabled. Its relatively cheap to buy, but the subscription is a bit steep b/c when I bought,I had to buy a year (or more) instead of by the month. I don’t know what its like now. Also the one I have for Toby is a bit on the clunky side, not as e

New Tractive Cat 6 Mini: Constant GPS signal loss and LIVE tracking failures
I waited for a Tracker that wasn't sized like a bulky box of matches, my cat has walked the area around my house daily. Almost 2 days ago, it lost signal near my house. I still get battery updates, but no gps signal. No way I'll get another tracker that can't make use of cellular network to help fin

Tracking
Yeah, your post in r/pets is going to be flooding with people telling you to keep your cat inside. Tractive isn’t perfect, but it’s probably one of your best options as long as you have some degree of cellular LTE coverage. You’ll get some interference from the trees/forest, but so will any GPS trac

Is the Cat 6 mini worth the money?
I would not get the Cat 6 mini. There has been a flood of complaints since it released ~2 months ago, many of them from current Tractive users who upgraded from the Cat Mini. The GPS is weaker and the tracker struggles to connect in circumstances where the previous tracker had no issue. I have the C

Has anyone had any experience using Tractive? What are the pros and cons in your opinion?
Yes! I bought it almost immediately after my post above and have been using it everyday. I got the cat mini. I've had no problems so far. It has connection 99.9% of the time. Only during really bad weather like a storm did I find some issues. I charge when it's around 50% so I don't worry about losi

Backpacking w/ Large dog
This is what I take for my dog when we backpack in the Colorado Rockies, this is for a 2 night trip. I cut down on kibble weight by bringing freeze dried meal “cookies”, they’re pressed into cookie sized discs and are super light. I do about 60% of his normal amount of kibble & supplement with the d
